Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) is a eld theory for strong interactions, that describes hadrons as bound states of quarks and gluons. It has been very successful in predicting phenomena involving large momentum transfer. In this region the coupling constant is small and perturbation theory becomes a reliable tool.

QCD Phenomenology At High Temperatures
A phenomenological, thermodynamically consistent quasiparticle model of the quark-gluon plasma is constructed, taking into account information from lattice QCD simulations. Close to the phase transition, confinement is incorporated by a modification of the particle distribution function.
