Framing energetic top-quark pair production at the LHC
Top-quark pair production is central to many facets of LHC physics. At leading order, the top and anti-top are produced in a back-to-back topology, however this topology accounts only for a minority of the events with TeV-scale momentum transfer that ...

Compatibility of a model for the QCD-Pomeron and chiral-symmetry breaking phenomenologies [PDF]
The phenomenology of a QCD-Pomeron model based on the exchange of a pair of non-perturbative gluons, i.e. gluon fields with a finite correlation length in the vacuum, is studied in comparison with the phenomenology of QCD chiral symmetry breaking, based ...

Study of Bs⟶ϕℓ+ℓ− Decays in the PQCD Factorization Approach with Lattice QCD Input
In this paper, we studied systematically the semileptonic decays Bs⟶ϕl+l− with l− = (e−, μ−, τ−) by using the perturbative QCD (PQCD) and the “PQCD+Lattice” factorization approach, respectively. We first evaluated all relevant form factors Fi(q2) in the low‐q2 region using the PQCD approach, and we also took the available lattice QCD results at the ...

Some remarks on anthropic approaches to the strong CP problem
The peculiar value of θ is a challenge to the notion of an anthropic landscape. We briefly review the possibility that a suitable axion might arise from an anthropic requirement of dark matter.

We investigate the exclusive semileptonic and rare D⟶π(K) decays within the standard model together with the light‐front quark model (LFQM) constrained by the variational principle for the QCD‐motivated effective Hamiltonian. The form factors are obtained in the q+ = 0 frame and then analytically continue to the physical timelike region.

Randomness on the Lattice [PDF]
In this lecture we review recent lattice QCD studies of the statistical properties of the eigenvalues of the QCD Dirac operator. We find that the fluctuations of the smallest Dirac eigenvalues are described by chiral Random Matrix Theories with the ...

Large Lorentz Scalar and Vector Potentials in Nuclei [PDF]
In nonrelativistic models of nuclei, the underlying mass scales of low-energy quantum chromodynamics (QCD) are largely hidden. In contrast, the covariant formulations used in relativistic phenomenology manifest the QCD scales in nuclei through large ...

Gribov's Confinement Scenario [PDF]
I give a brief account of Gribov's scenario of supercritical charges in QCD. Gribov's equation for the Green function of light quarks and its derivation from the corresponding Dyson-Schwinger equation are described.
