Fabrication of Effective Room Temperature Chemiresistive Gas Sensor by Utilizing p‐type CuO @ n‐type g‐C3N4 Heterojunction Nanocomposite

open access: yesChemNanoMat, Volume 12, Issue 9, September 2026.
In this work, we present a low‐cost chemiresistive gas sensor operating at room temperature based on a CuO@g‐C3N4 p–n heterojunction nanocomposite synthesized via a simple hydrothermal method. The fabricated sensor exhibits fast response/recovery times and low detection limits toward both H2 and CO2 gases, attributed to efficient interfacial charge ...

Simple and sensitive method for in vitro monitoring of red blood cell viscoelasticity by Quartz Crystal Microbalance with dissipation monitoring (QCM-D)

open access: yesBiosensors and Bioelectronics: X
Viscoelasticity (VE) is the intrinsic mechano-dynamic property enabling red blood cells (RBCs) to undergo prompt and repeated deformations while maintaining structural integrity.

Fluorescence Color Changes of Molecular Aggregation Processes of Difluoroboron β‐Diketonate Complexes With Heterocyclic Ring During Solvent Evaporation

open access: yesChemPhotoChem, Volume 10, Issue 9, September 2026.
Fluorescence visualization captures liquid‐like clusters (LLCs) during crystallization of furan‐ and thiophene‐based β‐diketonate–BF2 complexes. Enhanced dipole moments induce competition between H‐ and J‐type stacking, broadening emission, and suppressing the formation of a distinct redshift band.

The Usage History of the Aqueduct of Nîmes Reconstructed From Carbonate Archives: Operation, Modifications and Late Antique Breakdown and Change

open access: yesGeoarchaeology, Volume 41, Issue 5, September/October 2026.
ABSTRACT Anthropogenic carbonate deposits in Roman aqueducts can provide detailed environmental and archaeological information. The Roman aqueduct of Nîmes (France), famed for the Pont du Gard bridge, was built around AD 50 to convey water over 50 km to the city of Nemausus for drinking and bathing.

2‐Vinylpyridine Plasma Polymers as Anion Exchange Membranes in Low Temperature Electrolyzers: Structure‐Property Relationships and Proof of Concept

open access: yesPlasma Processes and Polymers, Volume 23, Issue 9, September 2026.
2‑vinylpyridine (2VP) plasma polymers were deposited by PECVD and post‐functionalized. Chemically homogeneous films containing vinyl pyridinium groups with competitive ionic conduction were obtained. A water electrolysis cell using a 2VP plasma polymer as an anion‐exchange membrane reached 1 A·cm−2 at 2 V, demonstrating a highly promising proof of ...

Conformational asymmetry of human immunodeficiency virus‐1 protease flaps increases along the darunavir drug resistance pathway

open access: yesProtein Science, Volume 35, Issue 9, September 2026.
Abstract Under selective drug pressure, the structure and dynamics of HIV‐1 protease (PR) evolve to confer resistance to the drug. Here, we report on the conformational changes in PR flaps for drug‐resistance mutations using 19F nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy.
