Fault-tolerant quantum architectures based on erasure qubits

open access: yesPhysical Review Research
The overhead of quantum error correction (QEC) poses a major bottleneck for realizing fault-tolerant computation. To reduce this overhead, we exploit the idea of erasure qubits, relying on an efficient conversion of the dominant noise into erasures at ...

Deterministic Entanglement as a Prerequisite for Scalable Quantum Photonic Resource State Generation

open access: yesAdvanced Quantum Technologies, Volume 9, Issue 5, May 2026.
Scalable photonic quantum computing requires entanglement generated deterministically. Simple combinatorics shows that probabilistic fusion causes exponential overheads, while 1D entangled‑state sources offer orders‑of‑magnitude higher success probabilities than Bell pairs or single photons.

Telecom C‐Band Source of Triggered Polarization‐Entangled Photon Pairs Combining High Coincidence Rates, Fidelities and Single‐Photon Purity

open access: yesAdvanced Quantum Technologies, Volume 9, Issue 5, May 2026.
This work presents a high‐brightness source of polarization‐entangled photon pairs emitting in the telecom C‐band. The source is based on semiconductor quantum dots incorporated in a planar cavity structure. In this way, triggered emission with a coincidence rate of 201 kcps combined with g2(0) values of about 0.01 and entanglement fidelities of up to ...

Assessment of spatiotemporal trends in groundwater depth and salinity through GIS‐based geostatistical analysis: The case of Aksu Irrigation System in Antalya, Türkiye

open access: yesRiver, Volume 5, Issue 2, Page 160-176, May 2026.
The study revealed that while groundwater depth trends were generally risk‐free, electrical conductivity showed localized risks in 38% of the Aksu Irrigation System. Overall, 25% of the area was classified as risky. The integrated GIS‐based approach provides a rapid, objective, and cost‐effective tool for precision water management. Abstract Continuous

Systematic Multiplatform Discovery of Methylation Markers Enables Non‐Invasive Early Detection of Endometrial Cancer

open access: yesCancer Science, Volume 117, Issue 5, Page 1412-1421, May 2026.
We identified key endometrial cancer DNA methylation biomarkers (ZNF626, GRIA4, SPDYA) from cervical cells. The model achieved high endometrial cancer sensitivity and detected 92.86% of Stage I endometrial cancers using TCT samples. ABSTRACT Endometrial cancer, the most common gynecological malignancy with an annual increase of 1%–3%, lacks suitable ...
