Turbulence, Sediment‐Induced Stratification, and Mixing Under Macrotidal Estuarine Conditions (Qiantang Estuary, China) [PDF]
AbstractTime series of in situ measured velocity and suspended sediment concentration from Qiantang Estuary (China), and estimates of turbulence and sediment stratification parameters are presented. The data span a period of 9 days, and after phase averaged, they are used to explore spring‐neap tidal variations in flow, turbulence, and sediment ...

The computation of flushing time in Qiantang Estuary(钱塘江河口水体冲洗时间的计算)

Calculation and study on pollutant degradation coefficients of Qiantang River estuary
Abstract Qiantang River Estuary is a typical macro-tidal estuary in China, with features of strong tidal and high sediment concentration. In order to figure out degradation characterization of the major pollutants of Qiantang River estuary, water samples were taken in Xinsha Island, Changansha Island and Wenyan.

Population Genomics Provides Novel Insights Into Evolutionary Relationships and Local Adaptation of Two Ecotypes Coilia nasus. [PDF]
Based on whole‐genome resequencing, we determined that the freshwater‐resident form (C. nasus taihuensis) is an ecotype of anadromous Coilia nasus, not a distinct subspecies. The two ecotypes diverged approximately 4.6 thousand years ago, coinciding with the formation of Tai Lake.

ABSTRACT Cone penetration tests, a method that is typically used to determine the engineering properties of soils, can be used as an effective tool for refined subsurface stratigraphic investigations of alluvial and coastal plains, aside from the geographic location.

Abstract Incised valley fills are complex as they correspond to multiple sea‐level cycles which makes interpretation and correlation of stratigraphic surfaces fraught with uncertainty. Despite numerous studies of the stratigraphy of incised valley fills, few have focused on extensive core coverage linked to high fidelity dating in a macro‐tidal, tide ...

Ningbo–Zhoushan Port Main Corridor project is important in the development of Zhoushan City, but its impact on the hydrodynamic characteristics of the Zhoushan sea area is still unclear. Finite volume method is used in the present study to solve the shallow water equations and establish a plane two‐dimensional tidal current numerical model.

Abstract The Cobequid Bay – Salmon River estuary, Bay of Fundy, does not possess particularly large tidal bores (maximum ca 30 cm). Nevertheless, detailed logging of 13 peels made from cores spread throughout the entire area influenced by tidal bores indicates that inferred tidal‐bore deposits comprise approximately 15% of the deposits in the upper ...
