Mapping and assessment of recreation services in Qinghai-Tibet Plateau
Science of The Total Environment, 2022Recreation services are part of "Experiences" in nonmaterial nature's contribution to people (NCP). It is one of the activities most closely linked to natural landscapes and human well-being. Current research methods are mostly point-based, lacking a systematic evaluation at the regional level that integrates climate conditions and recreational ...

Gravity inversion in Qinghai-Tibet Plateau
Physics and Chemistry of the Earth, Part A: Solid Earth and Geodesy, 2000Abstract Due to its high elevation and high seismicity the Qinghai-Tibet plateau takes a primary position on the earth surface. The inaccessibility of the region makes geophysical studies difficult. Active seismic sounding is available along essentially one line crossing the eastern part of the plateau.

The effect of desertification on frozen soil on the Qinghai-Tibet plateau
Science of The Total Environment, 2020Under the influences of climate change and human activities, desertification has become widespread on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau (QTP). However, the effect of desertification on frozen soil is still debated. Here, soil temperatures are observed through 14 boreholes at Honglianghe River Basin on the QTP to study the relationship between desertification ...

Carbon Balance in an Alpine Steppe in the Qinghai‐Tibet Plateau
Journal of Integrative Plant Biology, 2009Abstract Carbon fluxes were measured using a static chamber technique in an alpine steppe in the Qinghai‐Tibet Plateau from July 2000 to July 2001. It was shown that carbon emissions decreased in autumn and increased in spring of the next year, with higher values in growth seasons than in winters.

The gravity and isostatic Moho undulations in Qinghai–Tibet plateau
Journal of Geodynamics, 2000Abstract It is our interest to study the Moho depths in the Qinghai–Tibet. An iterative hybrid spectral–classical methodology is applied to invert the gravity data and obtain the 3D variation in Moho depth. The gravity inversion is constrained by results from deep seismic sounding and seismological investigations.

Pastoral farming on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau
2018We report on pastoral farming systems in Henan County (altitude 3600 metres) within the Sanjiangyuan (Three-River Headwaters) Region of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. Our information comes from in-depth interviews of 16 pastoral farming families, one focus group, plus discussions with key local informants.

Behavioral mechanisms of male sterilization on plateau pika in the Qinghai-Tibet plateau
Behavioural Processes, 2012Fertility control is an alternative non-lethal method in the management of rodents. Previous modeling suggests that the efficacy of male sterilization depends on mating systems of animals, but behavioral mechanisms of male sterilization have not been investigated. Here we investigated the behavioral mechanism of the sterilant quinestrol in reducing the
