Gravity inversion in Qinghai-Tibet Plateau
Physics and Chemistry of the Earth, Part A: Solid Earth and Geodesy, 2000Abstract Due to its high elevation and high seismicity the Qinghai-Tibet plateau takes a primary position on the earth surface. The inaccessibility of the region makes geophysical studies difficult. Active seismic sounding is available along essentially one line crossing the eastern part of the plateau.

Mapping and assessment of recreation services in Qinghai-Tibet Plateau
Science of The Total Environment, 2022Recreation services are part of "Experiences" in nonmaterial nature's contribution to people (NCP). It is one of the activities most closely linked to natural landscapes and human well-being. Current research methods are mostly point-based, lacking a systematic evaluation at the regional level that integrates climate conditions and recreational ...

Global Biogeochemical Cycles, 2022
As the world's Third Pole, the Qinghai‐Tibet Plateau has a large area of marshes, which plays an important role in global carbon cycle. The net primary productivity (NPP) of vegetation is a crucial index for measuring the carbon flux of marsh ecosystems.

Tectonic evolution of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau
Journal of Asian Earth Sciences, 2012Abstract The Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, composed of several continental slivers within the eastern Tethyan domain, is one of the pivotal sites to examine to better understand the theory of plate tectonics and the orogenic evolution on Earth. This plateau is generally inferred to be a collage of several continental blocks that rifted from Gondwanaland and

Diversity of culturable actinobacteria from Qinghai–Tibet plateau, China
Antonie van Leeuwenhoek, 2010To investigate the diversity of culturable actinobacteria and further screen for microbial pharmaceutics, seven different media were chosen to isolate actinobacteria from 87 soil samples collected from Qinghai-Tibet plateau. A total of 1930 strains was isolated and identified to belong to 11 suborders, i.e., Actinopolysporineae, Corynebacterineae ...

Investigation, Monitoring, and Simulation of Permafrost on the Qinghai‐Tibet Plateau: A Review
Permafrost and Periglacial ProcessesThe Qinghai‐Tibet Plateau (QTP) is the largest permafrost region in the world at low and middle latitudes and high elevation. Permafrost is being degraded on the QTP due to global warming, which has a significant effect on regional climate, hydrological,

Estimation of Permafrost Ground Ice to 10 m Depth on the Qinghai‐Tibet Plateau
Permafrost and Periglacial ProcessesPermafrost ground ice melting could alter hydrological processes in cold regions by releasing water. Currently, there is a lack of gridded data of ground ice from the Qinghai‐Tibet Plateau (QTP).

The Electrical Structure of Northeastern Qinghai-Tibet Plateau
Chinese Journal of Geophysics, 2005The electrical conductivity model of the crust beneath northeastern Qinghai-Tibet is obtained from inverting TE and TM mode responses simultaneously using the non-linear conjugate gradient inversion (NLCG) algorithm. The result shows that there exist high electrical conductivity layers in the middle and lower crust beneath the northeastern Qinghai ...

Pastoral farming on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau
2018We report on pastoral farming systems in Henan County (altitude 3600 metres) within the Sanjiangyuan (Three-River Headwaters) Region of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. Our information comes from in-depth interviews of 16 pastoral farming families, one focus group, plus discussions with key local informants.
