Paracoccus tibetensis sp. nov., isolated from Qinghai-Tibet Plateau permafrost
International Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology, 2013Strain Tibet-S9a3T was isolated from Qinghai-Tibet Plateau permafrost, China. The isolate was a Gram-negative, non-motile, non-spore-forming short rod. The 16S rRNA gene sequence indicated that strain Tibet-S9a3T was a member of the genus Paracoccus and was closely ...

The gravity and isostatic Moho undulations in Qinghai–Tibet plateau
Journal of Geodynamics, 2000Abstract It is our interest to study the Moho depths in the Qinghai–Tibet. An iterative hybrid spectral–classical methodology is applied to invert the gravity data and obtain the 3D variation in Moho depth. The gravity inversion is constrained by results from deep seismic sounding and seismological investigations.

Vertical distribution of Pu in forest soil in Qinghai-Tibet Plateau
Journal of Environmental Radioactivity, 2021The 239+240Pu and 137Cs activities and 240Pu/239Pu atom ratios in surface soil and soil core collected from Qinghai-Tibet Plateau were investigated. The maximum of 239+240Pu and 137Cs activity concentrations in five soil cores were found in upper layers and have a same trend: the maximum followed by exponential decline.

Behavioral mechanisms of male sterilization on plateau pika in the Qinghai-Tibet plateau
Behavioural Processes, 2012Fertility control is an alternative non-lethal method in the management of rodents. Previous modeling suggests that the efficacy of male sterilization depends on mating systems of animals, but behavioral mechanisms of male sterilization have not been investigated. Here we investigated the behavioral mechanism of the sterilant quinestrol in reducing the

Permafrost temperatures and thickness on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau
Global and Planetary Change, 2010Abstract Based on permafrost temperature measurements from 190 boreholes along the Qinghai-Tibet Highway/Railway since the early 1960s, we present spatial variations of permafrost temperatures, thermal gradients, and thickness on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.

Numerical analysis of ground temperature in Qinghai-Tibet Plateau
Science China Technological Sciences, 2002On the basis of the existing theories such as permafrost, thermodynamics and fluid mechanics, as well as the climate features on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and the data collected from both laboratory and the on-the-spot test, this paper puts forward a set of analytical methods and a numerical module for ground thermal regime with consideration of ...

Active layer thickness calculation over the Qinghai–Tibet Plateau
Cold Regions Science and Technology, 2009Abstract The rising air temperature and increased human activities have caused permafrost degradation over the Qinghai–Tibet Plateau, including thickening of the active layer. The active layer plays an important role in cold regions. Active layer thickness (hereafter ALT) variation may have profound socio-economic and eco-environmental consequences ...
