Diversity Patterns of Domestic Herbivore Viruses in China Reveal Transmission Dynamics with Disease Management Implications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 32, 9 June 2026.
This study performs pan‐viromic profiling of 14,529 samples from 5,710 domestic herbivores across five Chinese provinces, establishing the DhCN‐Virome (1,085,360 viral metagenomes). It reveals species/sample‐specific viromic signatures and cross‐species transmission dynamics, aiding unified disease control.

Depth-Related Patterns and Physicochemical Drivers of Soil Microbial Communities in the Alpine Desert of Ngari, Xizang

open access: yesMicroorganisms
The Beishan region near Shiquanhe Town in Ngari, western Xizang (Tibet), represents a typical alpine desert ecosystem on the Qinghai–Xizang Plateau. However, depth-related patterns of soil microbial communities and their physicochemical controls remain ...

High‐Altitude Hypoxia Activates JNK‐p53 Signaling: Linking Hippocampal Energy Crisis to Cognitive Impairment

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 32, Issue 6, June 2026.
Chronic high‐altitude hypoxia impairs memory in 2819 residents and causes hippocampal atrophy in rats. JNK‐p53‐Bim signaling drives mitophagy‐to‐apoptosis transition and 73% ATP depletion, while concurrent HIF‐2α/PHD2 activation indicates parallel adaptive responses.

Loess-paleosol sequence on Loess Plateau and uplift of the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau

open access: yes, 1996
Correlation of the loess-paleosol sequence on Loess Plateau and the tectonoclimatic cycle it reflects with the moraine-paleosol sequence on Qinghai-Xizang Plateau and the uplift process it reflects, indicates that both sequences are synchronous to each ...

Climate Change and Hydropower Impacts on Habitat Suitability of Endangered Schizothoracinae Fishes in the Qinghai‐Xizang Plateau

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 6, June 2026.
FA and Bio11 are key factors impacting Schizothorax species’ habitats. The Saga, Angren, and Miling counties were suitable areas considering hydropower. Schizothorax species will increase upriver and lose lower habitats in the future. Schizothorax species were exhibited an upstream movement trend in the future.

Comparison of the Variation Characteristics and Influencing Factors of Evapotranspiration in Two Alpine Grasslands on the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau

open access: yes
In the context of global warming, the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau is altering atmospheric circulation through sensible heat absorption and latent heat release. This not only impacts the water and energy balance of the plateau's ecosystem but also plays a ...

Oxytropis ikhbogdicus (Section Mesogaea, Fabaceae), A New Species From Mongolia Based on Morphological and Molecular Analyses

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 6, June 2026.
Oxytropis ikhbogdicus, a new species endemic to Mongolia, is described and illustrated. The new species was confirmed by phylogenetic analysis based on the complete plastome genome and combined nuclear ribosome internal transcribed spacer (ITS), psbA‐trnH, and trnF‐L sequence data as well as morphological characteristics. ABSTRACT Oxytropis ikhbogdicus,

Habitat Utilization Preference by Small Mammals Is Associated With Geomorphic and Soil Properties: A Case Study of the Plateau Pika From the Eastern Qinghai‐Tibet Plateau

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 6, June 2026.
This study, through a large‐scale survey, reveals a close relationship between plateau pika habitat use preferences and geomorphic and soil characteristics. The findings indicate that pikas prefer flat, sun‐facing terrain near water sources, as well as specific ranges of soil depth, organic matter, and moisture.

Research on seismicity and crustal deformation in the northeastern Qinghai-Xizang Plateau: Current status and future prospect

open access: yes地球与行星物理论评
The northeastern margin of the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau, as the primary tectonic front accommodating plateau expansion, represents a crucial region for investigating plateau uplift and lateral growth mechanisms.

Error Analysis of Lake Ice Characteristics of ERA5-Land and FLake Model Improvement on the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau

open access: yes
The Qinghai-Xizang Plateau, distinguished by its vast array of lakes, exhibits marked seasonal lake ice coverage, which is highly responsive to climatic shifts. This ice coverage plays a crucial role in the dynamic interchange of fluxes between the lake ...
