Bubble emissions from thermokarst lakes in the Qinghai–Xizang Plateau

Quaternary International, 2014
It is important to understand the role of Qinghai-Xizang Plateau thermokarst lakes in the global atmospheric methane (CH4) and carbon dioxide (CO2) budget. This study investigated the gas components and isotopic characteristics of bubble gas collected from six thermokarst lakes.

Satellite observation of surface albedo over the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau Region

Advances in Atmospheric Sciences, 1988
A method has been developed to determine the surface albedo over the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau region from NOAA polar orbiter AVHRR (Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer) data. The empirical relationship between clear-sky planetary and surface albedos is established the basis of surface global radiation measurements and the specified ratio between ...

Representing permafrost properties in CoLM for the Qinghai–Xizang (Tibetan) Plateau

Cold Regions Science and Technology, 2013
Abstract Most land surface models (LSMs) used in climate models do not perform well in modeling the permafrost processes. Due to the complex permafrost distribution characteristics and landscapes of the Qinghai–Tibet Plateau (QTP), the LSMs simulations over QTP are even worse.

Climate controls and high‐altitude permafrost, qinghai‐xizang (tibet) Plateau, China

Permafrost and Periglacial Processes, 1994
AbstractThe high altitude‐induced permafrost of the Tibet Plateau reflects a geothermal regime characterized by a strong diurnal pattern, high solar radiation inputs at the surface, and a high geothermal gradient. As a result, the permafrost is relatively [warm] and sensitive to thermal disturbance.

Some Aspects of Recent Research on the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau Meteorology

Bulletin of the American Meteorological Society, 1981
Abstract The Qinghai-Xizang (Tibet) Plateau has a profound influence on atmospheric circulation patterns on all time and space scales. This report constitutes a short summary of work being performed at the Lanzhou Institute of Plateau Atmospheric Physics of the Academia Sinica.

The Qinghai-Xizang Plateau Meteorological Experiment (Qxpmex) May–August 1979

1986
Many earlies studies have pointed out that the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau strongly influences the weather and climate of China, even the general circulation of the world. If one does not include the influence of the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau in the numerical simulation, the mean circulation and the characteristics of climate seem to conflict with the reality ...

Review of numerical simulation on the dynamics of Qinghai-Xizang plateau

Acta Seismologica Sinica, 2004
In recent twenty years, much numerical simulation work has been done on the evolution of Qinghai-Xizang (Tibetan) plateau. In this paper some principal numerical models and results are reviewed and analyzed. The earlier plane stress or plane strain model has much discrepancy with the actual deformation of Qinghai-Xizang plateau, such as the thickening ...

Ocean ridge granite and its geochemical characteristics in western Qinghai-Xizang plateau

Chinese Journal of Geochemistry, 2001
In our work, ocean ridge granite, i.e., Oytag plagiogranite massif, was discovered in western Qinghai-Xizang plateau. It intruded into the basic lava of the Oytag ophiolite suite and it was formed a little later than the (ultra) mafic rocks of the Oytag ophiolite suite.

Study of Geomagnetic Field Models of the Qinghai‐Xizang (Tibetan) Plateau

Chinese Journal of Geophysics, 2000
AbstractBased on three‐component absolute geomagnetic survey data and by use of the Taylor polynomial method and the spherical cap harmonic analysis method, the Taylor polynomial models of the geomagnetic field (X, Y and Z) and spherical cap harmonic models of the geomagnetic residual field (∆X,∆Y and ∆Z) over the Qinghai‐Xizang plateau are calculated,
