Long-chain alkenones in Qinghai Lake sediments
Geochimica et Cosmochimica Acta, 1996Abstract Long-chain methyl and ethyl alkenones (C 37 -C 40 ) containing two to four double bonds have been detected in sediments from Qinghai Lake, China. This is the first report of the alkenones in lake sediments, deposited under a variety of salinity conditions, where the lake has not encountered any marine incursions.

The study on climatic changes and lake level fluctuations of Qinghai lake in holocene
Chinese Geographical Science, 1993According to loess and palaeosol climatic record, field observation, analysis data and14C dating, we discuss the climatic changes and the water level fluctuations of Qinghai Lake. It is pointed out that there were four relatively warm and moist stages in Qinghai Lake basin during the Holocene. They formed in the periods from 10,300 yr.B.P.

Abstract Qinghai Lake is the largest internally drained lake in China and its unique location makes it sensitive to climate changes. Late glacial climate changes associated with variation in Qinghai Lake levels have been intensively investigated for the past 40 years, with particular attention paid to lake level fluctuation histories between the last
