Latent Class Model with Application to Speaker Diarization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
In this paper, we apply a latent class model (LCM) to the task of speaker diarization. LCM is similar to Patrick Kenny's variational Bayes (VB) method in that it uses soft information and avoids premature hard decisions in its iterations.

Superintegrability on sl(2)-coalgebra spaces

open access: yes, 2007
We review a recently introduced set of N-dimensional quasi-maximally superintegrable Hamiltonian systems describing geodesic motions, that can be used to generate "dynamically" a large family of curved spaces. From an algebraic viewpoint, such spaces are

Eco‐Friendly Synthesis of ZnO Nanoparticles From Spent Zinc–Carbon Batteries for Dye Water Treatment

open access: yesChemistrySelect, Volume 11, Issue 18, 12 May 2026.
Waste zinc–carbon batteries are valorized to synthesize ZnO nanoparticles via an eco‐friendly route. The materials exhibit efficient adsorption‐driven removal of Congo red from contaminated water, demonstrating high capacity and reusability. This approach offers a sustainable pathway for battery waste management while addressing dye pollution ...

Quantum Size Effects on the Chemical Sensing Performance of Two-Dimensional Semiconductors

open access: yes, 2012
We investigate the role of quantum confinement on the performance of gas sensors based on two-dimensional InAs membranes. Pd-decorated InAs membranes configured as H2 sensors are shown to exhibit strong thickness dependence, with ~100x enhancement in the

Tau‐targeting active immunotherapy slows progression and reduces pathology in mouse models of tauopathy

open access: yesBrain Pathology, Volume 36, Issue 3, May 2026.
The efficacy of the novel anti‐tau active immunotherapy, p5555kb, was tested using two mouse models of tau pathology. p5555kb inoculation increased the survival rate and reduced tau pathology in tau‐overexpressing P301L mice and decreased tau seeding in the brains of C57BL/6 mice injected with human‐purified Alzheimer's disease tau.
