Phase‐Change Assembling Nanostructures Synergistically Potentiate Tumor Radiosensitivity by Reducing the Stemness of Cancer Stem‐Like Cells

open access: yesExploration, EarlyView.
A eutectic phase‐change mixture of natural fatty acids was introduced to serve as a gating material for the near‐infrared‐triggered precise release of oxygen and nitroimidazole radiosensitizer in tumors. The stemness of cancer stem‐like cells was shown to be significantly reduced through the delivery of oxygen to deep tumors.

Lithofacies Characteristics of Gulong Shale and Its Influence on Reservoir Physical Properties

open access: yesEnergies
The lithofacies characteristics of the Qingshankou Formation (K2qn) shale in the Gulong Depression are crucial for oil exploration and development. This study investigates the K2qn shale lithofacies characteristics and their impact on reservoir physical ...

Thermal Characterisation of Millet to Develop Sustainable Intumescent Passive Fire Protection Systems

open access: yesFire and Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Intumescent paints, coatings, or sealants are a popular form of passive protection in the fire industry. However, the impact of their toxicity and constituent synthetic chemical ingredients is an important consideration for sustainability. This research experimentally studied an agricultural grain, known as millet, quantifying its unusual ...

A lower bound for the L_2[-1,1]-norm of the logarithmic derivative of polynomials with zeros on the unit circle

open access: yesПроблемы анализа, 2019
Let C be the unit circle {z: |z| = 1} and Qn(z) bean arbitrary C-polynomial (i. e., all its zeros z1, . . ., zn ∈ C). We prove that the norm of the logarithmic derivative Q′n/Qn in the complex space L_2[−1,1] is greater than 1/8.

A model for the reaction KN→QN

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 1974
A model for the reactions Kp → Qp is given assuming dominance of pomeron and ω, f exchanges. The coupling of the pomeron is taken in accord with s-channel helicity conservation (SCHC) and both real and imaginary parts of the SCH amplitudes for ω and f exchange have a t-structure in accord with amplitude analyses. The model was fitted to the 8.2 GeV/c K−

The Many Faces of Talent Management: Organizational Perspectives on Talent and Talent Management Practices in Jordan

open access: yesHuman Resource Development Quarterly, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Talent management involves the systematic planning, acquisition, development, performance management, engagement, and retention of employees identified as “talent.” Little is known about the relationship between organizations' talent perspectives and talent management practices.

On the acyclic point-connectivity of the n-cube

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1982
The acyclic point-connectivity of a graph G, denoted α(G), is the minimum number of points whose removal from G results in an acyclic graph. In a 1975 paper, Harary stated erroneously that α(Qn)=2n−1−1 where Qn denotes the n-cube.

Investigating the Qn Site of the Cytochrome bc1 Complex in Saccharomyces cerevisiae with Mutants Resistant to Ilicicolin H, a Novel Qn Site Inhibitor*

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 2006
The cytochrome bc1 complex resides in the inner membrane of mitochondria and transfers electrons from ubiquinol to cytochrome c. This electron transfer is coupled to the translocation of protons across the membrane by the protonmotive Q cycle mechanism ...

Interface Engineering in Solid‐State Sodium Batteries: Advances in Materials Design, Interfacial Strategies, and Multiscale Characterization

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Materials, EarlyView.
Since solid‐state sodium batteries (SSSBs) are a promising solution for advancing sodium‐based energy storage, it is necessary to systematically summarize the development process of SSSBs. It focuses on the role of interface engineering in addressing challenges such as materials design, interfacial strategies, and multiscale characterization.

Quark-Novae, cosmic reionization, and early r-process element production

open access: yes, 2009
We examine the case for Quark-Novae (QNe) as possible sources for the reionization and early metal enrichment of the universe. Quark-Novae are predicted to arise from the explosive collapse (and conversion) of sufficiently massive neutron stars into ...
