An Imagined Diaspora: The making of Shi'i Muslim ethnicity in Sri Lanka

open access: yesJournal of Indian Ocean World Studies, 2021
The contemporary formation of a community of Shi’i Muslims provides a window into the making and unmaking of ethnicity in Sri Lanka. Originating in solidarity with the Islamic revolution of Iran, Sunni activists formed a political network which has ...

Metallic phase of disordered graphene superlattices with long-range correlations

open access: yes, 2010
Using the transfer matrix method, we study the conductance of the chiral particles through a monolayer graphene superlattice with long-range correlated disorder distributed on the potential of the barriers.

Strong field QED in lepton colliders and electron/laser interactions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Studies of strong field particle physics processes in electron/laser interactions and lepton collider interaction points are reviewed. These processes are defined by the high intensity of the electromagnetic fields involved and the need to take them into

Antibiotic Resistance, Biofilm Genes, and smeDEF Efflux Pump in Clinical Stenotrophomonas maltophilia Isolates From Iran

open access: yesMicrobiologyOpen, Volume 15, Issue 1, February 2026.
Iranian clinical Stenotrophomonas maltophilia isolates showed high susceptibility to trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole, minocycline, and levofloxacin, but marked resistance to ceftazidime and ticarcillin‐clavulanate, alongside widespread biofilm production and resistance genes.

Socio‐psychological determinants of beekeeper conflict with bee‐eaters

open access: yesConservation Science and Practice, Volume 8, Issue 2, February 2026.
This study investigates factors influencing beekeepers’ use of lethal control against native bee‐eaters in Iran using the theory of planned behavior. Experience, social norms, intentions, and economic dependence significantly predicted using lethal control methods.

Friedmann-like equations for High Energy Area of Universe

open access: yes, 2012
In this paper, evolution of the high energy area of universe, through the scenario of 5 dimensional (5D) universe, has been studied. For this purpose, we solve Einstein equations for 5D metric and 5D perfect fuid to derive Friedmann-like equations.

Multi‐Objective Low Carbon Energy Management of Integrated Energy Systems Considering Renewable Energy Sources and Water Response Programs

open access: yesIET Renewable Power Generation, Volume 20, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
This paper proposes a two‐layer, multi‐objective hybrid optimization model for low‐carbon planning in integrated energy systems. By considering uncertainty scenarios, the model simultaneously minimizes costs, greenhouse gas emissions and groundwater extraction.

Highly anisotropic interlayer magnetoresistance in ZrSiS nodal-line Dirac semimetal

open access: yes, 2019
We instigate the angle-dependent magnetoresistance (AMR) of the layered nodal-line Dirac semimetal ZrSiS for the in-plane and out-of-plane current directions.

Pathways to a Fully Renewable Energy System in Iran: A Scenario‐Based Analysis Across Power, Heat, Transport, Industry and Desalination

open access: yesIET Renewable Power Generation, Volume 20, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
This study assesses three transition pathways for Iran's energy system to 2050. Only the best policy scenario (BPS) achieves 100% renewables, with over 93% of primary energy from solar photovoltaics, extensive storage, and power‐to‐X technologies. In the BPS, CO2 emissions fall to zero and the levelised cost of electricity declines to €24.7/MWh by 2050.
