Grouped wavelength conversion using engineered QPM device

2009 Conference on Lasers & Electro Optics & The Pacific Rim Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics, 2009
Recent advances in grouped wavelength conversion technology are reviewed. A new design for an engineered QPM LiNbO 3 waveguide module· allows high quality and variable wavelength conversion. Highly efficient conversion using the latest waveguide technology is also reported.

Soliton engineering with two-period QPM gratings

Nonlinear Guided Waves and Their Applications, 2002
Two-period quasi-phase-matching schemes might make it practically possible to engineer the averaged effective competing nonlinearities governing beams in quadratic materials. We show that the bandwidth for soliton generation is broader than in homogeneous structures.

QPM wavelength converters based on crystal quartz

Advanced Solid-State Photonics, 2008
Recent progress in quasi-phase-matched crystal quartz will be reported. Fine period twinning by mechanical stress application achieved a 12 um twin structure. Milliwatt-level second harmonic generation was demonstrated at 266 nm by 2nd-order QPM.

Quantum nonlinear optics in QPM waveguides

2003 European Quantum Electronics Conference. EQEC 2003 (IEEE Cat No.03TH8665), 2003
This study have realized and demonstrated a correlated pair source, in collaboration with the group at the University of Geneva, that has the highest pair production efficiency reported to date. Typical objectives of this activity include gated single photon state generators, an integrated system for quantum key distribution, and an integrated ...

THz-OPO with a novel QPM-scheme

2009 34th International Conference on Infrared, Millimeter, and Terahertz Waves, 2009
We present a nanosecond optical parametric oscillator for terahertz generation in periodically poled lithium niobate. The used QPM-scheme based on periodic poling leads to a collinear pump and signal wave and an emission of the terahertz wave under the well known Cherenkov-angle.

Molecular Breeding for Quality Protein Maize (QPM)

2013
Maize endosperm protein is deficient in two essential amino acids, lysine and tryptophan. Several spontaneous and induced mutations that affect amino acid composition in maize have been discovered amongst which the o2 gene (opaque2) has been used in association with endosperm and amino acid modifier genes for developing Quality Protein Maize (QPM ...

Optimization of Multi-QPM SHG using Simulated Annealing

13th International Conference on Fiber Optics and Photonics, 2016
We exploited the efficacy of SA algorithm in QPM technology to generate multi-QPM SHG. Various SHG controlling parameters of the algorithm includes temperature, perturbation size and choice of the domains for different peak-profiles are discussed.

Simulated Annealing: An Approach for Multiple QPM

2017
All optical wavelength conversion is made possible with the advent of engineered Quasi-phase matching (QPM) devices. Simulated annealing is an algorithm can be used in QPM technology for designing second harmonic wave of any chosen amplitude and phase profile.

Multiple QPM in Phase Shifted Optical Superlattice

13th International Conference on Fiber Optics and Photonics, 2016
We generate multiple SHG in a periodic QPM device by distributing phase shifter (PS) domains. Furthermore, we analyze the capability of PS domains to engineer the intensity, spacing and the number of SHG peaks.

Adiabatic QPM processes and frequency comb generation

Laser Congress 2018 (ASSL), 2018
Self-defocusing nonlinearities enabled by an adiabatic QPM device suppress Q- switching-damage and thereby enable a repetition-rate stabilized SESAM-modelocked 10-GHz Yb:CALGO laser delivering 127 fs at 0.81 W from a compact straight laser cavity with normal dispersion.
