TECTB Variants Reveal Tectorial Membrane Vulnerability in Dominant Non‐Syndromic Hearing Loss

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
TECTB is a non‐collagenous protein of the tectorial membrane – an extracellular matrix of the cochlea. This study identifies dominant missense variants in TECTB linked to human hereditary deafness in two unrelated families. Genetically engineered mice homozygous for one of the variants are profoundly deaf, whereas heterozygous mice have normal hearing ...

Covert Optical Fingerprints Within Overt Structural Colors via Cascaded Cavity Resonances

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Cascaded photonic–plasmonic cavities combine vivid structural colors with hidden stochastic optical fingerprints in a single monolithic platform. Layered cavities control the overt appearance, while disordered nanogap resonances generate covert scattering with limited mutual influence.

Non‐Coding Transcripts From Diversified Members of IgLec Family Protect Antiviral Effectors From Viral miRNA

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The IgLec gene family generates both protein‐coding antiviral effectors and non‐coding transcripts. Upon viral infection, non‐coding transcripts are preferentially targeted by viral miR‐N48, thereby buffering protein‐coding isoforms from repression. Depletion of these decoy transcripts compromises antiviral defense, revealing a non‐coding RNA‐mediated ...

Binary Large Object-Based Approach for QR Code Detection in Uncontrolled Environments

open access: yesJournal of Electrical and Computer Engineering, 2017
Quick Response QR barcode detection in nonarbitrary environment is still a challenging task despite many existing applications for finding 2D symbols. The main disadvantage of recent applications for QR code detection is a low performance for rotated and

Microprocessor implementation of the QR code decoder

open access: yes, 2010

Architecting Anisotropic Force‐Responsive Bidirectional High‐Contrast Three‐Color Fluorescence Switches via Effective Molecular Modulation for High‐Security Information Storage

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Synergistically integrating substituent variation and positional isomerism in molecular engineering affords 13 rare tricolored mechanofluorochromic luminogens, and 3 exceedingly scarce force‐triggered bidirectional high‐contrast three‐color fluorescence switches are screened out via a three‐step protocol.

The Effect of Sustainability Information on Consumers' Preferences for Fungus‐Resistant Grape Wine

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The demand for sustainable food production is intensifying the need to reduce the environmental and social impacts of pesticide use in agriculture. In viticulture, where dependence on pesticides is high because grapevines are susceptible to fungal diseases, fungus‐resistant grape varieties (PIWI) offer a promising strategy to reduce chemical ...
