Global myocardial work index predicts response to biventricular pacing in patients with non‐left bundle branch block

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, EarlyView.
Abstract Aims Cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) improves the prognosis of patients with heart failure (HF) and wide QRS complex. However, patients with non‐left bundle branch block (LBBB) show a poor response to CRT. This study evaluated myocardial work estimated by pressure–strain loops on echocardiography for predicting response to CRT in ...

QRS Complex Detection in ECG Signal [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
ECG is utilized for clinical conclusion. The underlying assignment for examination is the evacuation of commotion. The ECG sign is extremely delicate in nature, and regardless of the fact that little commotion is blended with unique flag, the different ...

Transthyretin amyloid cardiomyopathy in aortic stenosis patients scheduled for transcatheter aortic valve implantation

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, EarlyView.
Abbreviations: TAVI, transcatheter aortic valve implantation; ATTR‐CM, transthyretin cardiac amyloidosis. We aimed to diagnose occult ATTR‐CM in patients with severe aortic stenosis undergoing TAVI using bone scintigraphy. We verified a diagnosis of ATTR‐CM in 8 of 171 (4.7 %) consecutive aortic stenosis patients who underwent TAVI.

A historical review of experimental imaging of the beating heart coronary microcirculation in vivo

open access: yesJournal of Anatomy, Volume 242, Issue 1, Page 3-16, January 2023., 2023
Intravital imaging of the beating heart microcirculation in vivo has been challenging. The past 50 years has seen changes in ways to both stabilise and image the heart with a shift from learning about coronary vascular anatomy and physiology to the role of thromboinflammation and other microcirculatory disturbances in cardiovascular disease.

Executable QR codes with Machine Learning for Industrial Applications [PDF]

open access: yes29th IEEE International Conference on Emerging Technologies and Factory Automation (ETFA 2024)
Executable QR codes, also known as eQR codes or just sQRy, are a special kind of QR codes that embed programs conceived to run on mobile devices like smartphones. Since the program is directly encoded in binary form within the QR code, it can be executed even when the reading device is not provided with Internet access.

Early occurrence of heart failure hospitalization or ventricular arrhythmia re‐define the long‐term prognosis after CRT

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, EarlyView.
Abstract Aims Classifying patients as responders or non‐responders to cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) has been recently challenged, suggesting that preventing heart failure (HF) progression may also provide survival benefits. We assessed a novel classification based on echocardiographic left ventricular (LV) reverse remodelling and the ...

Super-linear convergence in the p-adic QR-algorithm [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
The QR-algorithm is one of the most important algorithms in linear algebra. Its several variants make feasible the computation of the eigenvalues and eigenvectors of a numerical real or complex matrix, even when the dimensions of the matrix are enormous.

Association of ventricular–arterial coupling with biomarkers involved in heart failure pathophysiology – the STANISLAS cohort

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Heart Failure, EarlyView.
Association of ventricular–arterial coupling with heart failure (HF) biomarkers in the STANISLAS cohort. MMP, matrix metalloproteinase; NT‐proBNP, N‐terminal pro‐B‐type natriuretic peptide. Aims Impaired left ventricular–arterial coupling (VAC) has been shown to correlate with worse prognosis in cardiac diseases and heart failure (HF).

Prevalence and prognostic role of L wave and selected clinical and echocardiographic variables in dogs with atrial fibrillation

open access: yesJournal of Veterinary Internal Medicine, Volume 37, Issue 1, Page 47-57, January/February 2023., 2023
Abstract Background Information regarding the frequency of L waves and their prognostic relevance in dogs with secondary atrial fibrillation (AF) is limited. Hypothesis/Objectives To determine whether L waves occur and ascertain their prognostic role, as well as the role of other clinical and echocardiographic variables in dogs with AF.
