Genetic Algebras Associated with ξ(a)-Quadratic Stochastic Operators [PDF]

open access: yesEntropy, 2023
The present paper deals with a class of ξ(a)-quadratic stochastic operators, referred to as QSOs, on a two-dimensional simplex. It investigates the algebraic properties of the genetic algebras associated with ξ(a)-QSOs.

QSO Absorption Lines [PDF]

open access: bronzeSymposium - International Astronomical Union, 1983
The evidence for the evolution of the intergalactic clouds that produce the Lyman-alpha absorption lines in the spectra of QSOs is reviewed. The recent detection of OVI in clouds that produce both Lyman-alpha and Lyman-beta absorption lines is discussed.

CompaGB: An open framework for genome browsers comparison [PDF]

open access: yesBMC Research Notes, 2011
Background Tools to visualize and explore genomes hold a central place in genomics and the diversity of genome browsers has increased dramatically over the last few years.

Resolved imaging and spectroscopy of QSOs [PDF]

open access: bronzeSymposium - International Astronomical Union, 1986
We have obtained direct images and off-nuclear spectra for five QSOs having a wide range of radio, optical and X-ray luminosity. Four objects show absorption features identified with stars in a host galaxy, and off-nuclear changes in emission line wavelengths.

QSO search by slitless spectroscopy [PDF]

open access: bronzeSymposium - International Astronomical Union, 1986
Sandage and I have obtained “grism” plates that redundantly cover one square degree fields centered on ten Selected Areas. We used a grating-prism in the converging beam of the Mayall 4-meter telescope prime focus to photograph 1580 A·mm−1 slitless spectra to a limit of about B = 21.5 (cf. Hoag and Smith 1977).

Fine Classification of QSOs and Seyferts for Activity Types Based on SDSS Spectroscopy

open access: yesFrontiers in Astronomy and Space Sciences, 2021
Using the SDSS spectroscopy, we have carried out fine optical spectral classification for activity types for 710 AGN candidates. These objects come from a larger sample of some 2,500 candidate AGN using pre-selection by various samples; bright objects of

The 2dF-SDSS LRG and QSO Survey: the spectroscopic QSO catalogue [PDF]

open access: yesMonthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, 2009
We present the final spectroscopic QSO catalogue from the 2dF-SDSS LRG (luminous red galaxy) and QSO (2SLAQ) survey. This is a deep, 18 < g < 21.85 (extinction corrected), sample aimed at probing in detail the faint end of the broad line active galactic nuclei luminosity distribution at z≲ 2.6 .

Isomorphic Circuits of Independent Amplitude Tunable Voltage-Mode Bandpass Filters and Quadrature Sinusoidal Oscillators

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2021
This paper presents isomorphic circuits of voltage-mode (VM) non-inverting bandpass filters (NBPFs) and VM quadrature sinusoidal oscillators (QSOs) with independent amplitude control functionality.
