QT interval derived measurements in patients with cardiac syndrome X compared to coronary artery disease

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2016
Previous studies assessing effect of ischemia on ventricular repolarization are mostly directed towards patients with coronary artery disease (CAD); however, similar reports on cardiac syndrome X (CSX) are scarce. Whether microvascular dysfunction of CSX

The role of M cells and the long QT syndrome in cardiac arrhythmias: simulation studies of reentrant excitations using a detailed electrophysiological model

open access: yes, 2004
In this numerical study, we investigate the role of intrinsic heterogeneities of cardiac tissue due to M cells in the generation and maintenance of reentrant excitations using the detailed Luo-Rudy dynamic model. This model has been extended to include a

Platelet Lysate–Enriched Human Induced Pluripotent Stem Cell–Derived Chondrocyte Sheets for Bone Defect Repair via Endochondral Ossification

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Human iPSC‐derived hypertrophic chondrocyte sheet promotes bone regeneration. Abstract Bone defects are a major clinical challenge, primarily owing to the limited self‐healing capacity of bones and the high risk of complications associated with conventional treatment strategies.

QT interval

open access: yesThe Egyptian Heart Journal, 2014
Background: Occupational factors are likely to contribute to increased cardiovascular disease risk among emergency medical responders (EMR). The aim of this study was to clarify whether EMR stressful Job and their prolonged exposure to work stress are ...

QT dispersion in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus: the impact of disease activity

open access: yesBMC Cardiovascular Disorders, 2012
BackgroundPatients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) have increased cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. Although autopsy studies have documented that the heart is affected in most SLE patients, clinical manifestations occur in less than 10%. QT

Stochastic Gross-Pitaevskii Equation for the Dynamical Thermalization of Bose-Einstein Condensates

open access: yes, 2013
We present a theory for the description of energy relaxation in a nonequilibrium condensate of bosonic particles. The approach is based on coupling to a thermal bath of other particles (e.g., phonons in a crystal, or noncondensed atoms in a cold atom ...

An In Situ Embedded B‐MOF Sponge With Shape‐Memory for All‐in‐One Diabetic Wound Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A smart shape‐memory sponge dressing (P1A3@B‐MOF) is developed for accelerated diabetic wound healing. It achieves pH‐responsive corelease of Zn2+ and salvianolic acid B, synergistically providing antibacterial action, repolarizing macrophages to the M2 phenotype, and promoting angiogenesis.

Natural history of liver disease in a large international cohort of children with Alagille syndrome: Results from the GALA study

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
Natural history of liver disease in a large international cohort of children with Alagille syndrome: Results from the GALA study. Abstract Background and Aims Alagille syndrome (ALGS) is a multisystem disorder, characterized by cholestasis. Existing outcome data are largely derived from tertiary centers, and real‐world data are lacking.

Correction for Heart Rate Is Not Necessary for QT Dispersion in Individuals without Structural Heart Disease and Patients with Ventricular Tachycardia

open access: yesAnnals of Noninvasive Electrocardiology, 2001
Background: It remains controversial whether QT dispersion should be corrected for heart rate, especially when the limitations of rate correction formulae are considered.

Correlation between QT dispersion after coronary artery bypass graft and major cardiovascular adverse events

open access: yesMajalah Kardiologi Indonesia, 2013
Introduction:Coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) improves prognosis in patient with coronary artery disease. However, some patients might experi-ence major adverse cardiovascular events.
