Reactivity of Square Planar Pt(II) Complexes Toward Acidic Moieties as H+, M+, and [ML]+ (M = Ag, Au)

Despite the fact that Pt(II) in square‐planar complexes exhibits Lewis basic properties toward electrophilic species (E⁺), the presence of oxygen atoms acting as competing Lewis basic sites leads to the formation of Pt─O─E⁺─O─Pt or Pt─O─E⁺ type complexes, in which no direct metal–metal bonds are observed.

Efficient CO Bond Cleavage in the Oxidized β‐O‐4 Lignin Motif Using a Carbon‐Supported Cobalt Catalyst

Cobalt‐based M–N–C catalysts are evaluated for the transfer hydrogenolysis of oxidized lignin model compounds using formic acid. The synergy between cobalt nanoparticles (CoNPs) and sub‐nanometric Co(II) species in a N‐doped carbon matrix enables efficient CO bond cleavage under mild conditions.

Encapsulation Enhances the Quantum Coherence of a Solid‐State Molecular Spin Qubit

A purely synthetic supramolecular chemistry approach enables the protection of the spin‐based qubit [Cr(ox)3]3− from external sources of decoherence in the solid state, leading to the enhancement of the phase memory and the spin lattice relaxation time, thus validating this chemical engineering strategy for qubit implementation.
