Government healthcare financing and dwindling oil prices: Any alternatives for OPEC countries?
Crude oil is one of the sources by which budgets are financed in OPEC countries. However, the fall in oil prices in 2014 put their governments’ finances under significant pressure. Healthcare was one of the sectors experiencing fiscal strain.

Octonion Hermitian quadrangles
A hermitian quadrangle \(H_nF\) is a polar space (of rank~2) defined by a hermitian sesquilinear form on~\(F^{n+1}\). This works nicely over skew fields like \(\mathbb R\), \(\mathbb C\) or~\(\mathbb H\), but the lack of associativity presents difficulties if one wants to extend the definition to the alternative algebra~\(\mathbb O\) of Cayley numbers.

Pressure generated by partially water-repellent flat thrust bearing with weak water-repellent part
The generation state of the pressure for partial water-repellent (slip) type flat thrust bearings with high/low slip parts was examined with experiments and infinite width bearing approximation.

Bistable Mechanisms 3D Printing for Mechanically Programmable Vibration Control
This work introduces a 3D‐printed bistable mechanism integrated into tuned mass dampers (TMDs) for mechanically adaptive passive vibration suppression. Through optimized geometry, the bistable design provides adaptable vibration reduction across a broad range of scenarios, achieving effective vibration mitigation without complex controls or external ...

Geological Mapping of the Debussy Quadrangle (H-14) Preliminary Results [PDF]
Geological mapping of Mercury is crucial to build an understanding of the history of the planet and to set the context for BepiColombo’s observations [1].

Classification of skew translation generalized quadrangles, I [PDF]
We describe new classification results in the theory of generalized quadrangles (= Tits-buildings of rank 2 and type B-2), more precisely in the (large) subtheory of skew translation generalized quadrangles ("STGQs").

High‐frequency (HF) welding of steel is limited by oxide inclusions that degrade weld quality. This study demonstrates, for the first time, the integration of a nonthermal Ar/H2 dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma jet into HF welding. Local plasma treatment provides effective shielding and in‐situ oxide reduction, resulting in markedly fewer and ...
