Quasilinearization method for an impulsive integro-differential system with delay

open access: yesMathematical Biosciences and Engineering, 2022
In this paper, we obtain solution sequences converging uniformly and quadratically to extremal solutions of an impulsive integro-differential system with delay. The main tools are the method of quasilinearization and the monotone iterative.

On microscopic origins of generalized gradient structures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Classical gradient systems have a linear relation between rates and driving forces. In generalized gradient systems we allow for arbitrary relations derived from general non-quadratic dissipation potentials.

Functional Limit Theorems for Toeplitz Quadratic Functionals of Continuous time Gaussian Stationary Processes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
\noindent The paper establishes weak convergence in $C[0,1]$ of normalized stochastic processes, generated by Toeplitz type quadratic functionals of a continuous time Gaussian stationary process, exhibiting long-range dependence.

Reaction diffusion equations and quadratic convergence [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Stochastic Analysis, 1996
In this paper, the method of generalized quasilinearization has been extended to reaction diffusion equations. The extension includes earlier known results as special cases. The earlier results developed are when (i) the right‐hand side function is the sum of a convex and concave function, and (ii) the right‐hand function can be made convex by adding ...

GENERALIZED QUADRATIC SPECTRUM APPROXIMATION IN BOUNDED AND UNBOUNDED CASES

open access: yesПроблемы анализа, 2021
The goal of this paper is to generalize concepts in spectral theory in order to define the quadratic spectrum associated to three bounded linear operators. This concept was initially defined for three matrices.

An Efficient Algorithm for the Separable Nonlinear Least Squares Problem

open access: yesAlgorithms, 2017
The nonlinear least squares problem m i n y , z ∥ A ( y ) z + b ( y ) ∥ , where A ( y ) is a full-rank ( N + ℓ ) × N matrix, y ∈ R n , z ∈ R N and b ( y ) ∈ R N + ℓ with ℓ ≥ n , can

Convergence of normalized quadratic forms

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Planning and Inference, 1999
This is a very well written expository article on the asymptotic behaviour of quadratic forms of strongly dependent stationary sequences. The authors describe the historical development of the problem and provide further extensions of recent results.

A Method to Guarantee Local Convergence for Sequential Quadratic Programming with Poor Hessian Approximation

open access: yes, 2017
Sequential Quadratic Programming (SQP) is a powerful class of algorithms for solving nonlinear optimization problems. Local convergence of SQP algorithms is guaranteed when the Hessian approximation used in each Quadratic Programming subproblem is close ...

A new smoothing method for solving nonlinear complementarity problems

open access: yesOpen Mathematics, 2019
In this paper, a new improved smoothing Newton algorithm for the nonlinear complementarity problem was proposed. This method has two-fold advantages. First, compared with the classical smoothing Newton method, our proposed method needn’t nonsingular of ...

Quadratic error bound of the smoothed gap and the restarted averaged primal-dual hybrid gradient

open access: yesOpen Journal of Mathematical Optimization, 2023
We study the linear convergence of the primal-dual hybrid gradient method. After a review of current analyses, we show that they do not explain properly the behavior of the algorithm, even on the most simple problems.
