This study explores machine learning‐driven prediction of fiber length characteristics in sustainable yarn blends made from recycled cotton and Lyocell. By analyzing empirical data through models like Random Forest and Gradient Boosting, and interpreting results with SHAP, key fiber length features from the Staple Diagram and Fibrogram are identified ...

Electrically Tunable Momentum Space Polarization Singularities in Liquid Crystal Microcavities
Using a highly birefringent material embedded in a liquid crystal microcavity, the Rashba‐Dresselhaus resonance is obtained. In this regime, polarization singularities, known as C‐points, are observed in momentum space. The positions of these singularities can be modified by applying an external voltage to the sample.

Energy Dispersion Induced Precisely Tunable Friction of Graphitic Interface
This study introduces a novel approach to precisely tune nanoscale friction on monolayer graphene using coupled DC/AC electric fields. Combining experiments (contact‐mode electrostatic force microscopy) and simulations (generalized Prandtl–Tomlinson model), vertical resonance is shown to disperse horizontal energy, reducing friction while preserving ...

Wonders of Harbor and Grey Seal Whiskers: Morphology, Natural Frequencies, and 3D Modeling
Seals detect prey by sensing vortices using whiskers. How whisker morphologies and locations respond to hydrodynamic signals across various frequencies remains unclear. This study measures whiskers’ natural frequencies and morphologies and maps them to whisker locations on the muzzle, providing insights into how seals interpret hydrodynamic signals ...

Self‐Oscillation in Active Wires with Asymmetric Willis‐Type Viscosity
This study suggests a self‐oscillation strategy enabled by a new set of material parameters, namely the asymmetric Willis‐type viscosity, to bias and independently control oscillation mode shapes as well as frequencies. The exemplified active wire can benefit the development of autonomous materials to construct soft motors, agitators, pumps, and ...

Particle‐Assisted Optoelectronic Tweezers for Manipulating Single Cells and Microparticles
This work introduces a particle‐assisted optoelectronic tweezers (OET) technique that uses Ag‐SiO2 microparticles as intermediaries to manipulate cells and microparticles via particle‐induced dielectrophoresis. The method extends the OET manipulation range while reducing cell damage.
