This paper provides an accessible methodology for approximating the distribution of a general linear combination of non-central chi-square random variables. Attention is focused on the main application of the results, namely the distribution of positive

A numerical model resulting from irreversible thermodynamics for describing transport processes is introduced, focusing on thermodynamic activity gradients as the actual driving force for diffusion. Implemented in CUDA C++ and using CalPhaD methods for determining the necessary activity data, the model accurately simulates interdiffusion in aluminum ...

Some results on a special type of real quadratic fields
In this paper, we determine the real quadratic fields Q(√d ) coincide with positive square - free integers d including the continued fraction expansion form of wd = [a0 ; 7,7,…,7 l-1 , al].

The $(z,k)$--equivalence of matrices over imaginary Euclidean quadratic rings is investigated. The classes of matrices over these rings are selected for which the standard form with respect to $(z,k)$--equivalence is uniquely defined and equal to the ...

The N=8 Supergravity Hamiltonian as a Quadratic Form
We conjecture that the light-cone Hamiltonian of N=8 Supergravity can be expressed as a quadratic form. We explain why this rewriting is unique to maximally supersymmetric theories.

Stabilization of L‐PBF Ni50.7Ti49.3 under low‐cycle loading was investigated. Recoverable strain after cycling was dependent on the amount of applied load. Recovery ratio was 53.4% and 35.1% at intermediate and high load, respectively. The maximum total strain reached 10.3% at a high load of 1200 MPa.

Solution of Quadratic Programming with Interval Variables Using a Two-Level Programming Approach
Quadratic programming with interval variables is developed from quadratic programming with interval coefficients to obtain optimum solution in interval form, both the optimum point and optimum value.

Creep experiments at 900°C on coarse‐grained steel‐ceramic composites containing recycled magnesia reveal that higher ceramic volume fractions significantly enhance the creep resistance. Detailed EBSD investigations identify subgrain formation in the steel matrix as the dominant deformation mechanism.

The representation of integers by positive ternary quadratic polynomials
An integral quadratic polynomial is called regular if it represents every integer that is represented by the polynomial itself over the reals and over the $p$-adic integers for every prime $p$. It is called complete if it is of the form $Q({\mathbf x} + {
