Real‐Time 3D Ultrasound Imaging with an Ultra‐Sparse, Low Power Architecture

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents a novel, ultra‐sparse ultrasound architecture that paves the way for wearable real‐time 3D imaging. By integrating a unique convolutional array with chirped data acquisition, the system achieves high‐resolution volumetric scans at a fraction of the power and hardware complexity.

An alternative way to establish the necessity part of the classical result on the statistical independence of quadratic forms

open access: yesLinear Algebra and its Applications, 1997
This paper provides an alternative to existing proofs of the necessity part of the classical result on the statistical independence of quadratic forms (or of second-degree polynomials) in normal variates. The alternative proof makes use of a lemma on polynomials in a single real variable.

Néel Tensor Torque in Polycrystalline Antiferromagnets

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This work introduces a Néel tensor torque based on a rank‐two symmetric tensor capturing spin correlations in a polycrystalline antiferromagnet. It shows the Néel tensor can be shaped and reshaped through the spin‐orbit torque (SOT) technique, enabling field‐free SOT switching with a specific polarity of the adjacent ferromagnet. This discovery opens a

Central limit theorems for weighted quadratic forms of dependent processes with applications in specification testing [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper, we establish some new central limit theorems for generalized U-statistics of dependent processes under some mild conditions. Such central limit theorems complement existing existing results available from both the econometrics literature ...

Spatially‐Controlled Planar Guided Crystallization of Low‐Loss Phase Change Materials for Programmable Photonics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The concept of spatially‐controlled planar guided crystallization is a novel method for programming the growth of optically homogeneous low‐loss Sb2S3 phase‐change material (PCM), leveraging the directional crystallization within confined channels.

Jensen-Feynman approach to the statistics of interacting electrons

open access: yes, 2009
Faussurier et al. [Phys. Rev. E 65, 016403 (2001)] proposed to use a variational principle relying on Jensen-Feynman (or Gibbs-Bogoliubov) inequality in order to optimize the accounting for two-particle interactions in the calculation of canonical ...

Bioorthogonal Photoactivation of 2‐Nitrobenzyl Caged Doxorubicin Anticancer Prodrugs on Gold Nanostars

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Bioorthogonal chemistry was applied to intracellularly photoactivate Doxorubicin (Dox) using gold nanostars (AuNSt) and near‐infrared (NIR) light. Two prodrugs were used: one photoactivatable, masked with 2‐nitrobenzyl carbamate (proDox1) and another photolabile, masked with 2‐nitrobenzyl diol (proDox2), which was attached to the AuNSt surface.

Modeling of Soil Aggregate Stability using Support Vector Machines and Multiple Linear Regression

open access: yesمجله آب و خاک, 2016
Introduction: Soil aggregate stability is a key factor in soil resistivity to mechanical stresses, including the impacts of rainfall and surface runoff, and thus to water erosion (Canasveras et al., 2010).
