An Iterative Algorithm of Solution for Quadratic Minimization Problem in Hilbert Spaces

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2010
The purpose of this paper is to introduce an iterative algorithm for finding a solution of quadratic minimization problem in the set of fixed points of a nonexpansive mapping and to prove a strong convergence theorem of the solution for quadratic ...

Additivity of Quadratic Maps

open access: yesPublications of the Research Institute for Mathematical Sciences, 1988
The set of observables of a Quantum Mechanical System need only be closed under a "quadratic" product. It is shown that an additive structure of this set (whose existence is less natural) is uniquely determined by this multiplicative structure.

Positive tree-like mapping classes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
In this paper we will study special mapping classes of orientable surfaces with one boundary component. A mapping class is an element of the mapping class group. The mapping class group for an orientable surface S with boundary is defined as MCG(S) =

A Quadratic Morphological Deep Neural Network Fusing Radar and Optical Data for the Mapping of Burned Areas

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing, 2022
Wildfires are considered as one of the most disturbing factors in forest areas and high-density vegetation regions. The mapping of wildfires is particularly important for fire prediction and burned biomass estimation.

ITERATION OF QUADRATIC MAPS ON MATRIX ALGEBRAS [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos, 2012
We study the iteration of a quadratic family in the algebra of 2 × 2 real matrices, parameterized by a matrix C. We analyze and classify the existing cycles (periodic orbits) and their dependence on the parameter matrix. We discuss how new dynamical phenomena occur as a consequence of the noncommutativity of the matrix product.

Contouring Curved Quadratic Elements [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
We show how to extract a contour line (or isosurface) from quadratic elements - specifically from quadratic triangles and tetrahedra. We also devise how to transform the resulting contour line (or surface) into a quartic curve (or surface) based on a ...

Waveguide array simulation of the Dirac equation for even potentials

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2022
In this work, we consider a single unitary transformation that enables us to diagonalize the Dirac Hamiltonian with an even potential. Its diagonal matrix elements are translated to the optical domain, which leads to a direct mapping onto a lattice with ...

Characterization and stability analysis of advanced multi-quadratic functional equations

open access: yesAdvances in Difference Equations, 2021
In this paper, we introduce a new quadratic functional equation and, motivated by this equation, we investigate n-variables mappings which are quadratic in each variable.

Quadratic Maps Between Groups [PDF]

open access: yesgmj, 2009
Abstract The notion of quadratic maps between arbitrary groups appeared at several places in the literature on quadratic algebra. Here a unified extensive treatment of their properties is given; the relation with a relative version of Passi's polynomial maps and groups of degree 2 is established and used to study the structure of the ...

Fixed Points, Inner Product Spaces, and Functional Equations

open access: yesFixed Point Theory and Applications, 2010
Rassias introduced the following equality ∑i,j=1n∥xi-xj∥2=2n∑i=1n∥xi∥2, ∑i=1nxi=0, for a fixed integer n≥3. Let V,W be real vector spaces.
