Conserved- and zero-mean quadratic quantities in oscillatory systems
We study quadratic functionals of the variables of a linear oscillatory system and their derivatives. We show that such functionals are partitioned in conserved quantities and in trivially- and intrinsic zero-mean quantities.

Short-time existence of solutions for mean-field games with congestion [PDF]
We consider time-dependent mean-field games with congestion that are given by a system of a Hamilton-Jacobi equation coupled with a Fokker-Planck equation. The congestion effects make the Hamilton-Jacobi equation singular.

Testing Taylor’s Law in Urban Population Dynamics Worldwide with Simultaneous Equation Models
Knowledge of long-term population trends is still incomplete at the global scale. In this perspective, human and animal ecology has intensively studied the relationship between the Mean (M) size and the Variance (V) of specific attributes of ...

Sufficient stochastic maximum principle in a regime-switching diffusion model [PDF]
We prove a sufficient stochastic maximum principle for the optimal control of a regime-switching diffusion model. We show the connection to dynamic programming and we apply the result to a quadratic loss minimization problem, which can be used to solve a

Magnetic Properties of Dilute Alloys: Equations for Magnetization and its Structural Fluctuations
The dilute Heisenberg ferromagnet is studied taking into account fluctuations of magnetization caused by disorder. A self-consistent system of equations for magnetization and its mean quadratic fluctuations is derived within the configurationally ...

Entanglement frustration for Gaussian states on symmetric graphs [PDF]
We investigate the entanglement properties of multi-mode Gaussian states, which have some symmetry with respect to the ordering of the modes. We show how the symmetry constraints the entanglement between two modes of the system.

Quadratic BSDEs with mean reflection
The present paper is devoted to the study of the well-posedness of BSDEs with mean reflection whenever the generator has quadratic growth in the $z$ argument. This work is the sequel of Briand et al. [BSDEs with mean reflection, arXiv:1605.06301] in which a notion of BSDEs with mean reflection is developed to tackle the super-hedging problem under ...

RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN BODY VOLUME AND BODY WEIGHT IN PELIBUEY EWES
Background. In terms of animal management, the measurement of body weight (BW) is important in the design of nutrition and health programs. Objective. The objective of the present study was to evaluate the relationship between body volume (BV) and BW in ...
