State Estimation in Nonlinear Quadratic Systems
Abstract The problem of the state estimation of nonlinear quadratic systems is addressed in this paper. Given an assigned polytopic region of the state space, which is enclosed into the domain of attraction of the zero equilibrium point, the main result consists of a sufficient condition for the existence of an observer which guarantees that the ...

Identified through the use of statistical design of experiments and metallographic investigation, this study exposes the stochastic origins of intergranular cracks in blown powder laser beam directed energy deposition additive manufacturing of pure molybdenum. It further demonstrates a successful crack mitigation approach with direct correlation to the

A novel workflow for investigating hydride vapor phase epitaxy for GaN bulk crystal growth is proposed. It combines Design of experiments (DoE) with physical simulations of mass transport and crystal growth kinetics, serving as an intermediate step between DoE and experiments.

Stability of linear and non-linear lambda and tripod systems in the presence of amplitude damping
We present the stability analysis of the dark states in the adiabatic passage for the linear and non-linear lambda and tripod systems in the presence of amplitude damping (losses). We perform an analytic evaluation of the real parts of eigenvalues of the

Photoswitching Conduction in Framework Materials
This mini‐review summarizes recent advances in state‐of‐the‐art proton and electron conduction in framework materials that can be remotely and reversibly switched on and off by light. It discusses the various photoswitching conduction mechanisms and the strategies employed to enhance photoswitched conductivity.

Integrable systems with quadratic nonlinearity in Fourier space
The Lax pair representation in Fourier space is used to obtain a list of integrable scalar evolutionary equations with quadratic nonlinearity. The famous systems of this type such as KdV, intermediate long-wave equation (ILW), Camassa-Holm and A ...

Predicting Atomic Charges in MOFs by Topological Charge Equilibration
An atomic charge prediction method is presented that is able to accurately reproduce ab‐initio‐derived reference charges for a large number of metal–organic frameworks. Based on a topological charge equilibration scheme, static charges that fulfill overall neutrality are quickly generated.

Remarks on second-order quadratic systems in algebras
This paper is an addendum to our earlier paper [8], where a systematic study of quadratic systems of second order ordinary differential equations defined in commutative algebras was presented.

Nests of limit cycles in quadratic systems
We give a proof of the distribution property of limit cycles in so-called quadratic systems. We prove that the possible limit cycle distributions are either (n,0)\left(n,0) or (n,1)\left(n,1) (where n∈{0}∪Nn\in \left\{0\right\}\cup {\mathbb{N}}). The aim

Imaging of Biphoton States: Fundamentals and Applications
Quantum states of two photons exhibit a rich polarization and spatial structure, which provides a fundamental resource of strongly correlated and entangled states. This review analyzes the physics of these intriguing properties and explores the various techniques and technologies available to measure them, including the state of the art of their ...
