Loopshaping by quadratic constraints on open-loop transfer functions
2007The purpose of this note is to propose to execute loopshaping by imposing quadratic constraints on open-loop transfer functions. Quadratic constraints are defined to be consistent with feedback stable systems. Then, a robust stability analysis and a loopshaping method under quadratic constraints on open-loop transfer functions are given.

Open-loop small-signal transfer functions of the quadratic buck PWM DC-DC converter in CCM
IECON 2014 - 40th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2014The quadratic buck converter or the BUCK converter presents a non-linear dc-dc voltage conversion ratio. The large-signal model of the quadratic buck converter would possess greater number of higher order nonlinear ac terms compared to that of the conventional buck converter. One can gain better insight by considering the linear model to understand the

Abstract Second-order components of the wave loads on floating wind turbines may induce severe resonance at the natural frequencies of the structures and result in fatigue damage. A conceptual semi-submersible platform for the DTU 10 MW Wind Turbine was introduced and simulated by FAST to obtain the second-order responses under steady winds with ...

A simple analytical model based on Delayed Quadratic (DQ) Transfer Function approximation is proposed for estimating waveforms of inductive single-line interconnects in VLSI's. An expression for overshoot voltage is derived by the model within 17% error for the line width less than 10 times the minimum line width and typical input signal.

This study examined backward transfer, which we define as how students’ ways of reasoning about previously encountered concepts are modified when learning about new concepts. We examined the backward transfer produced when students learned about quadratic functions.

ABSTRACT This report discusses the functional series approach to the analysis of nonlinear responses of offshore structures as can be measured in model tests. Emphasis is laid on the second order slowdrift oscillations. A short theoretical discussion of the problem is given.

The transfer of learning has been the subject of much scientific inquiry in the social sciences. However, mathematics education research has given little attention to a subclass called backward transfer, which is when learning about new concepts influences learners’ ways of reasoning about previously encountered concepts.

Large-scale problems in scientific and engineering computing often require solutions involving large-scale matrices. In this paper, we survey numerical techniques for solving a variety of large-scale matrix computation problems, such as computing the entries and trace of the inverse of a matrix, computing the determinant of a matrix, and computing the ...

A comprehensive treatment of the discrete-time, steady-state linear quadratic Gaussian stochastic control problem which is based entirely on the z-transfer-function point of view is presented. The optimal solution is found for the general multi-variable case by exploiting the properties of the newly defined discrete generalized spectral factor.
