A simplified thermoplastic pultrusion model is developed to predict thermal fields in glass fiber/polyethylene terephthalate (GF/PET) composites with reduced computational cost. By combining effective material homogenization, validation against literature data, and Gaussian‐process‐based optimization, the study reveals how heating limits, pulling speed,

Measurement‐based wide‐area damping of inter‐area oscillations based on MIMO identification
Interconnected power grid exhibits oscillatory response after a disturbance in the system. One such type of oscillation, the inter‐area oscillation has the oscillation frequency in the range of 0.1–1 Hz.

Numerical simulation of vortex induced vibrations of a circular cylinder: isothermal and heat transfer cases [PDF]
In this paper, the Fluid Structure Interaction (FSI) problem - vortex induced vibration of a circular cylinder are studied using a numerical method. An accurate Harten Lax and van Leer with contact for artificial compressibility (HLLC-AC) Riemann solver ...

Abstract One of the concerns regarding numerical simulation of floating wind turbines (FWTs) in waves is underprediction of resonant responses in the low-frequency range. In the present work, the difference-frequency wave loads on a restrained semi-submersible FWT subject to bichromatic waves are investigated by higher-fidelity tools (Computational ...

Phase Field Failure Modeling: Brittle‐Ductile Dual‐Phase Microstructures under Compressive Loading
The approach by Amor and the approach by Miehe and Zhang for asymmetric damage behavior in the phase field method for fracture are compared regarding their fitness for microcrack‐based failure modeling. The comparison is performed for the case of a dual‐phase microstructure with a brittle and a ductile constituent.

A novel workflow for investigating hydride vapor phase epitaxy for GaN bulk crystal growth is proposed. It combines Design of experiments (DoE) with physical simulations of mass transport and crystal growth kinetics, serving as an intermediate step between DoE and experiments.

This paper deals with the attachment of the Frequency Response Slide Rule. The slide rule which has been published in "Automatic Control" Vol.1 (1953) No.3 by K.IZAWA, is used for frequency response computation of real linear factors : (1+Ts), Ks and K/s and exponential factor : e-Ls of such a transfer function as [numerical formula] The attachment is ...

Multiscale experiments and modeling reveal how Ti3C2Tx MXene nanosheets reinforce PVDF nanocomposites. An optimal MXene loading (∼1 wt.%) nearly doubles tensile strength through efficient stress transfer, flake alignment, and crack‐deflection mechanisms, transforming ductile polymer behavior into a controlled multi‐stage fracture pathway which aligns ...
