The Garman-Klass volatility estimator revisited [PDF]
The Garman-Klass unbiased estimator of the variance per unit time of a zero-drift Brownian Motion B, based on the usual financial data that reports for time windows of equal length the open (OPEN), minimum (MIN), maximum (MAX) and close (CLOSE) values ...

Additive Gaussian Process Regression for Predictive Design of High‐Performance, Printable Silicones
A chemistry‐aware design framework for tuning printable polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) for vat photopolymerization (VPP) is developed using additive Gaussian process (GP) modeling. Polymer network mechanics informs variable groupings, feasible formulation constraints, and interaction variables.

Estimation of genetic parameters for test-day milk yield in Khuzestan buffalo [PDF]
: The objective of this work was to estimate covariance functions for additive genetic and permanent environmental effects, as well as to obtain genetic parameters for buffalo test-day milk yield using random regression models on Legendre polynomials ...

Surface Tension Measurement of Ti‐6Al‐4V by Falling Droplet Method in Oxygen‐Free Atmosphere
In this article, the temperature‐dependent surface tension of free falling, oscillating Ti‐6Al‐4V droplets is investigated in both argon and monosilane doped, oxygen‐free atmosphere. Droplet temperature and oscillation are captured with one single high‐speed camera, and the surface tension is calculated with Rayleigh's formula.

Partial Replication Strategies for Definitive Screening Designs with Second-Order Models
Replicating runs in designed experiments is essential for unbiased error variance estimation, particularly when the fitted model may not account for all active effects.

Small-area estimation based on natural exponential family quadratic variance function models and survey weights [PDF]
SUMMARY We propose pseudo empirical best linear unbiased estimators of small-area means based on natural exponential family quadratic variance function models when the basic data consist of survey-weighted estimators of these means, area-specific covariates and certain summary measures involving the weights.

Numerical Modeling of Tank Cars Carrying Hazardous Materials With and Without Composite Metal Foam
Large‐scale puncture models consisting of hazardous materials (HAZMATs) tank car with protective steel–steel composite metal foam (S–S CMF) are solved numerically. Tank car plate with added 10.91–13.33 mm thick S–S CMF layer does not puncture. Protective S–S CMF absorbs impact energy, reduces plate deformation, and prevents shear bands formation ...
