Demultiplexing in mode-division multiplexing system using multichannel blind deconvolution

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2016
We propose a mode demultiplexing method based on multichannel blind deconvolution (MBD) for a mode-division multiplexing (MDM) system. A 6 $\times$ 6 MDM transmission system is simulated to verify the performance of MBD.

Mixed‐Mode Stress Intensity Factor Evaluation via Thermoelastic Stress Analysis Including Non‐Adiabatic Correction

open access: yesFatigue &Fracture of Engineering Materials &Structures, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Characterization of the crack tip, such as the stress intensity factor (SIF), is a vital step for the assessment of fatigue crack growth and prediction of potential failure in engineering structures. This study investigates the use of thermoelastic stress analysis (TSA) for SIF evaluation, including a methodology for non‐adiabatic stress field

On the Feasibility of Efficient Multiamplitude Communication [PDF]

open access: yes
Bandwidth constraints in earth-satellite communication systems force consideration of uncoded M-ary modulation to obtain increased data rates. M-ary phase shift keying (MPSK) at first glance seems most promising because of the high transmitter efficiency

The Decentralization of Liquor Policies in Texas During the Post‐Prohibition Era

open access: yesInternational Economic Review, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We examine the decentralization of liquor policies in Texas during the Post‐Prohibition era using newly collected historical legislative roll call data. By combining these data with local referendum vote shares, we analyze both legislators' and constituents' preferences on liquor policy.

Performance Analysis of Direct-Sequence Code-Division Multiple-Access Communications with Asymmetric Quadrature Phase-Shift-Keying Modulation [PDF]

open access: yes
This article considers a quaternary direct-sequence code-division multiple-access (DS-CDMA) communication system with asymmetric quadrature phase-shift-keying (AQPSK) modulation for unequal error protection (UEP) capability.

Turbo Coded OFDM Combined with MIMO Antennas Based on Matched Interleaver for Coded-Cooperative Wireless Communication

open access: yesInformation, 2017
A turbo coded cooperative orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) with multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) antennas scheme is considered, and its performance over a fast Rayleigh fading channel is evaluated.

Reinforcement Learning for Jump‐Diffusions, With Financial Applications

open access: yesMathematical Finance, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We study continuous‐time reinforcement learning (RL) for stochastic control in which system dynamics are governed by jump‐diffusion processes. We formulate an entropy‐regularized exploratory control problem with stochastic policies to capture the exploration–exploitation balance essential for RL.

Cooperative Symbol-Based Signaling for Networks with Multiple Relays [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Wireless channels suffer from severe inherent impairments and hence reliable and high data rate wireless transmission is particularly challenging to achieve. Fortunately, using multiple antennae improves performance in wireless transmission by providing

On rate performance of M‐ary amplitude shift keying compact ultra massive array systems for massive connectivity

open access: yesElectronics Letters
Compact ultra massive array (CUMA) is a new form of the emerging fluid antenna system where a huge number of flexible‐position antennas are selected to produce the output signal.
