Direct quadrature phase shift keying modulator using six-port technology

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 2005
A direct quadrature phase shift keying modulator based on six-port technology is presented. The modulator comprises a six-port circuit, a switch matrix and open and short terminations. Using this modulator, direct phase shift keying modulation was achieved.

Wideband acoustic communication using quadrature-phase shift keying and eight-phase shift keying

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2006
In JAMSTEC, a short-range (up to 500 m) high-speed acoustic communication system for deep sea environment has been investigating. To widen a bandwidth, the new wideband projector was developed. It consists of two transducer elements and has a toroidal beam pattern.

Digital coherent quadrature phase-shift-keying (QPSK)

2006 Optical Fiber Communication Conference and the National Fiber Optic Engineers Conference, 2006
Conventional coherent detection attempts to synchronize local lasers with transmit lasers indiscriminately without considering individual noise contributors. Handling each contributor properly, we proposed a novel approach for quadrature-phase-shift-keying to enable realization of coherent communication without need of synchronization.

Continuous phase quadrature phase shift keyed (CPQPSK) signaling technique

MILCOM 88, 21st Century Military Communications - What's Possible?'. Conference record. Military Communications Conference, 2003
A continuous phase quadrature-phase-shift-keyed (CPQPSK) modulation technique is presented. This method uses a conventional QPSK-modulated signal and a phase trajectory converter to obtain nearly constant envelope amplitude and continuous phase trajectories. A computer simulation program, MODEM, is used to simulate the CPQPSK signaling technique. It is

Ultrasonic method for constructing a quadrature phase shift keying system

International Journal of Electronics, 1990
A quadrature phase shift keying (PSK.) system is developed using surface acoustic wave (SAW) devices. A SAW delay device having two or three interdigital transducers (IDT) operates as the key element for the modulation and demodulation of the communication system.

Data recovery in differentially encoded quadrature phase shift keying

MILCOM 2000 Proceedings. 21st Century Military Communications. Architectures and Technologies for Information Superiority (Cat. No.00CH37155), 2002
Information in a PSK modulation format is contained in the phase. For Gray-coded DEQPSK, this information is contained in the change in phase. With advances in DSP technology, fundamental trigonometric signal processing functions which have, in the past, been unavailable, now provide a mechanism for recovering the phase differential directly from the ...

Multiple bit differential detection of offset quadrature phase-shift-keying

IEEE International Conference on Communications, 2003. ICC '03., 2004
Analogous to multiple symbol differential detection of quadrature phase-shift-keying (QPSK), a multiple bit differential detection scheme is described for offset QPSK that also exhibits continuous improvement in performance with increasing observation interval.

A 100 MHz MEMS SiBAR phase modulator for quadrature phase shift keying

2012 IEEE International Frequency Control Symposium Proceedings, 2012
A technique is proposed to employ the phase shifting capability of a MEMS resonator to form the basic component of a switchless quadrature phase shift keying (QPSK) scheme. The advantages of such an approach include direct baseband to RF modulation, no generation of intermodulation products since the resonator is operated linearly, and small size, cost,

Error Performance of Quadrature Pilot Tone Phase-Shift Keying

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1968
In this paper we exhibit the effect of the data sequence on the reconstruction of the reference (pilot) tone for a quadrature phase-shift keying (Q-PSK) system. This is a binary digital transmission system in which the phase of one quadrature component of the carrier tone is keyed, while the phase of the other component is unkeyed.
