Continuous phase quadrature phase shift keyed (CPQPSK) signaling technique

MILCOM 88, 21st Century Military Communications - What's Possible?'. Conference record. Military Communications Conference, 2003
A continuous phase quadrature-phase-shift-keyed (CPQPSK) modulation technique is presented. This method uses a conventional QPSK-modulated signal and a phase trajectory converter to obtain nearly constant envelope amplitude and continuous phase trajectories. A computer simulation program, MODEM, is used to simulate the CPQPSK signaling technique. It is

Continuous phase quadrature phase shift keyed signaling technique with coding

IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications, 1989
A continuous phase quadrature phase shift keyed (CPQPSK) modulation technique is presented. This method utilizes a conventional QPSK modulator and a phase trajectory converter to approximate M=4, h=1/4 continuous phase signal and allows low cost, low complexity, and high rate (>1 Gbit/s) CPM modem implementation for bandwidth efficient transmission ...

Fiber nonlinear tolerance comparison between 112  Gb/s coherent transmission systems using quadrature-phase-shift-keying, offset quadrature-phase-shift-keying, and minimum-shift-keying formats

Optical Engineering, 2012
We numerically investigate the nonlinear transmission perfor- mance of 112 Gb∕s coherent transmission systems using polarization multiplexed quadrature-phase-shift-keying (QPSK), offset QPSK (OQPSK) and minimum-shift-keying (MSK) formats, and compare the fiber nonlinear tolerances of the three modulation formats.

Data recovery in differentially encoded quadrature phase shift keying

MILCOM 2000 Proceedings. 21st Century Military Communications. Architectures and Technologies for Information Superiority (Cat. No.00CH37155), 2002
Information in a PSK modulation format is contained in the phase. For Gray-coded DEQPSK, this information is contained in the change in phase. With advances in DSP technology, fundamental trigonometric signal processing functions which have, in the past, been unavailable, now provide a mechanism for recovering the phase differential directly from the ...

Coherent quadrature phase shift keying optical communication systems

Optoelectronics Letters, 2018
Coherent optical fiber communications for data rates of 100 Gbit/s and beyond have recently been studied extensively because high sensitivity of coherent receivers could extend the transmission distance. Spectrally efficient modulation techniques such as M-ary phase shift keying (PSK) can be employed for coherent optical links. The integration of multi-

Round-robin differential quadrature phase-shift quantum key distribution

Chinese Physics B, 2017
Recently, a round-robin differential phase-shift (RRDPS) protocol was proposed [Nature 509, 475 (2014)], in which the amount of leakage is bounded without monitoring the signal disturbance. Introducing states of the phase-encoded Bennett–Brassard 1984 protocol (PE-BB84) to the RRDPS, this paper presents another quantum key distribution protocol called ...

Error Performance of Quadrature Pilot Tone Phase-Shift Keying

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1968
In this paper we exhibit the effect of the data sequence on the reconstruction of the reference (pilot) tone for a quadrature phase-shift keying (Q-PSK) system. This is a binary digital transmission system in which the phase of one quadrature component of the carrier tone is keyed, while the phase of the other component is unkeyed.

Heterodyne video transmission with differentially encoded quadrature phase shift keying

Journal of Lightwave Technology, 1992
Heterodyne transmission experiments of multiple video channels using differentially encoded quadrature phase shift keying (QPSK) are described. Combining the QPSK microwave modulation format with the subcarrier multiplexing technique results in a total of 20 video channels at 50 Mb/s being transmitted on 10 microwave subcarriers.

Digital-analog hybrid optical phase-lock loop for optical quadrature phase-shift keying

Chinese Optics Letters, 2020
We analyze a feasible high-sensitivity homodyne coherent optical receiver for demodulating optical quadrature phase-shift keying (QPSK). A fourth-power phase-lock loop based on a digital look-up table is used. Considering the non-negligible loop delay, we optimize the loop natural frequency. Without error correction coding, a sensitivity of −37 dBm/−35
