SDFs from Unoriented Point Clouds using Neural Variational Heat Distances

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
We propose a novel variational approach for computing neural Signed Distance Fields (SDF) from unoriented point clouds. We first compute a small time step of heat flow (middle) and then use its gradient directions to solve for a neural SDF (right). Abstract We propose a novel variational approach for computing neural Signed Distance Fields (SDF) from ...

Semiological features of epilepsy seizures and paroxysmal non‐epileptic events in children: A systematic review and meta‐analysis

open access: yesDevelopmental Medicine &Child Neurology, EarlyView.
Pediatric paroxysmal non‐epileptic events (PNEs) are frequently misdiagnosed as epilepsy. We systematically reviewed and synthesized 40 studies, including 3123 video‐EEG monitored pediatric patients. Epileptic seizures in infants (1 month–3 years) typically presented as arrest, while in children and adolescents (1 month–21 years) they manifested as ...

Life Cycle Consumption and Portfolio Choice Under Real Interest Rate Risk

open access: yesFinancial Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We set up a life cycle model with real interest rate risk to demonstrate that real interest rates have implications for optimal household consumption and investments. Lower interest rates lead to higher optimal stock investments and lower consumption.

Fractional Error Bounds for Lobatto Quadrature: A Convexity Approach via Riemann–Liouville Integrals

open access: yesAxioms
In this paper, we establish a new fractional integral identity linked to the 4-point Lobatto quadrature rule within the Riemann–Liouville fractional calculus framework.

The Beesack-Darst-Pollard Inequalities and Approximation of the Riemann-Stieltjes Integral

open access: yes, 2007
Utilising the Beesack version of the Darst-Pollard inequality, some error bounds for approximating the Riemann-Stieltjes integral are given.

Assessment and Correction of Non‐Linearity Effects for In Situ Rb‐Sr Geochronology Applied to High 87Rb/86Sr Mica

open access: yesGeostandards and Geoanalytical Research, EarlyView.
Key Points Measurement of 86Sr at count rates < 1500 cps can result in statistical bias. Non‐linear signals in analogue detection mode (e.g., Rb) present a challenge for accurately dating high 87Rb/86Sr mica (> 1000). Accounting for these considerations, high 87Rb/86Sr mica are dated here with accuracies of ∼ 1%.

The Decentralization of Liquor Policies in Texas During the Post‐Prohibition Era

open access: yesInternational Economic Review, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We examine the decentralization of liquor policies in Texas during the Post‐Prohibition era using newly collected historical legislative roll call data. By combining these data with local referendum vote shares, we analyze both legislators' and constituents' preferences on liquor policy.

Specification Tests for Jump‐Diffusion Models Based on the Characteristic Function

open access: yesInternational Statistical Review, EarlyView.
Summary Goodness‐of‐fit tests are suggested for several popular jump‐diffusion processes. The suggested test statistics utilise the marginal characteristic function of the model and its L2‐type discrepancy from an empirical counterpart. Model parameters are estimated either by minimising the aforementioned L2‐type discrepancy or by maximum likelihood ...

On Multiparameter Post-Quantum Fractional Quadrature Inequalities with Simulation

open access: yesFractal and Fractional
This paper introduces a comprehensive class of multiparameter post-quantum fractional quadrature inequalities, unifying classical error bounds within the setting of the post-quantum Riemann–Liouville fractional integral.

An Integral Inequality for Twice Differentiable Mappings and Applications

open access: yes, 1999
An integral inequality is developed from which when applied to composite quadrature rules in numerical integration it is proved that there is a three fold improvement in the remainder of the classical averages of the Midpoint and Trapezoidal quadratures.
