Tropical independence II: The maximal rank conjecture for quadrics [PDF]
Building on our earlier results on tropical independence and shapes of divisors in tropical linear series, we give a tropical proof of the maximal rank conjecture for quadrics.

Abstract Twistor spaces are certain compact complex three‐folds with an additional real fibre bundle structure. We focus here on twistor spaces over P2#P2#P2${\mathbb {P}}^2\#{\mathbb {P}}^2\#{\mathbb {P}}^2$. Such spaces are either small resolutions of double solids or they can be described as modifications of conic bundles.

Abstract Given a smooth genus three curve C, the moduli space of rank two stable vector bundles on C with trivial determinant embeds in ${\mathbb {P}}^8$ as a hypersurface whose singular locus is the Kummer threefold of C; this hypersurface is the Coble quartic. Gruson, Sam and Weyman realized that this quartic could be

Toric amplitudes and universal adjoints
Abstract A toric amplitude is a rational function associated with a simplicial polyhedral fan. The definition is inspired by scattering amplitudes in particle physics. We prove algebraic properties of such amplitudes and study the geometry of their zero loci. These hypersurfaces play the role of Warren's adjoint via a dual volume interpretation.

Analytical Solutions for the Impedance of Cauchy‐ and Gauss‐Type Relaxation Processes
Analytical solutions for the impedance of Cauchy‐type and Gauss‐type relaxation functions are derived. It is shown that neither of these frequently used basis functions for DRT reconstruction reflects classical experimental data at high and low frequencies.

Model-Based Hand Tracking by Chamfer Distance and Adaptive Color Learning Using Particle Filter
We propose a new model-based hand tracking method for recovering of three-dimensional hand motion from an image sequence. We first build a three-dimensional hand model using truncated quadrics.

On Quadrirational Yang-Baxter Maps
We use the classification of the quadrirational maps given by Adler, Bobenko and Suris to describe when such maps satisfy the Yang-Baxter relation. We show that the corresponding maps can be characterized by certain singularity invariance condition. This

Analysis of mapping of general II degree surfaces in collinear spaces [PDF]
Mapping of projective creations which includes the II degree surfaces in the projective, general collinear spaces is complex. In order to simplify it, firstly the characteristic parameters must be constructively determined: vanishing planes, axes and ...

Wavelength‐Agnostic 3D‐Nanoprinted Coupler
A dual‐ellipsoidal 3D‐nanoprinted photonic coupler enables quasi‐free‐space propagation for wavelength‐agnostic, ultra‐broadband photonic interfacing. Combining matrix‐optics pre‐design with full‐vectorial simulations, it delivers a record‐wide 1 dB bandwidth exceeding 800 nm with ≈1.3 dB insertion loss.

Families of singular algebraic varieties that are rationally elliptic spaces
Abstract We discuss families of hypersurfaces with isolated singularities in projective space with the property that the sum of the ranks of the rational homotopy and the homology groups is finite. They represent infinitely many distinct homotopy types with all hypersurfaces having a nef canonical or anti‐canonical class.
