Adaptive triangular-quadrilateral mesh generation [PDF]
The authors propose an automatic triangular to quadrilateral mesh conversion adaption scheme and introduce a new optimal vertex smoothing procedure. Some numerical results, academic tests and a computational fluid dynamics example show the efficiency of the proposed method.

Efficient unstructured quadrilateral mesh generation [PDF]
This work is devoted to the description of an algorithm for automatic quadrilateral mesh generation. The technique is based on a recursive decomposition of the domain into quadrilateral elements. This automatically generates meshes composed entirely by quadrilaterals over complex geometries (there is no need for a previous step where triangles are ...

Mesh-Free MLS-Based Error-Recovery Technique for Finite Element Incompressible Elastic Computations
The finite element error and adaptive analysis are implemented in finite element procedures to increase the reliability of numerical analyses. In this paper, the mesh-free error-recovery technique based on moving least squares (MLS) interpolation is ...

Quadrilateral mesh simplification [PDF]
We introduce a simplification algorithm for meshes composed of quadrilateral elements. It is reminiscent of edge-collapse based methods for triangle meshes, but takes a novel approach to the challenging problem of maintaining the quadrilateral connectivity during level-of-detail creation.

Polynomial-Based Non-Uniform Ternary Interpolation Surface Subdivision on Quadrilateral Mesh
For non-uniform control polygons, a parameterized four-point interpolation curve ternary subdivision scheme is proposed, and its convergence and continuity are demonstrated.

3D B-Rep meshing for real-time data-based geometric parametric analysis
This paper presents an effective framework to automatically construct 3D quadrilateral meshes of complicated geometry and arbitrary topology adapted for parametric studies. The input is a triangulation of the solid 3D model’s boundary provided from B-Rep

A parallel edge orientation algorithm for quadrilateral meshes [PDF]
One approach to achieving correct finite element assembly is to ensure that the local orientation of facets relative to each cell in the mesh is consistent with the global orientation of that facet. Rognes et al.

The Virtual Element Method for the Dam Foundation With Joint
The contact is a typical non-linear problem that exists in various projects. For traditional three-node triangular mesh and four-node quadrilateral mesh, the accuracy and convergence of the calculation results are affected by the quality of the mesh. The

Rectangular/Triangular Hybrid Mesh Generation for Electromagnetic Analysis of Integrated Circuits
This paper presents a novel hybrid mesh generation algorithm for electromagnetic analysis of radio frequency integrated circuits (RFIC) using the method of moments (MoM). Due to its characteristics, MoM prefers rectangular or triangular meshes instead of
