Vertex-disjoint quadrilaterals in graphs

open access: yes, 2004
Let k be a positive integer and G a graph of order n. In (Discrete Math. 203 (1999) 229), we proved that if n=4k and δ(G)⩾2k then G contains k-1 vertex-disjoint quadrilaterals.

Robust Spot Melting by 3D Spot Arrangements in Electron Beam Powder Bed Fusion

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work proposes an approach to replace separately melted contours for spot melting in electron beam powder fusion. Adapting the spot arrangements close to the contour combined with stacking yields a comparable surface quality without the inherent challenges of separate contours, as demonstrated, by electron optical images and roughness measurements.

Geometric Thinking Levels in Learning Quadrilaterals: A Van Hiele-Based Case Study in a Papuan Junior High School

open access: yesEdumatica: Jurnal Pendidikan Matematika
This study investigated the geometric thinking levels of eighth-grade students in a Papuan junior high school, using the van Hiele theoretical framework, with a focus on their understanding of quadrilaterals. The research addressed common misconceptions

New Quality Measures for Quadrilaterals and New Discrete Functionals for Grid Generation

open access: yesMathematical and Computational Applications, 2023
In this paper, we review some grid quality metrics and define some new quality measures for quadrilateral elements. The curved elements are not discussed.

Cyclic quadrilaterals [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
A quadrilateral that can be inscribed in a circle is a cyclic quadrilateral. While all triangles are cyclic, this cannot be said of every quadrilateral.

Microstructure Evolution of a VMnFeCoNi High‐Entropy Alloy After Synthesis, Swaging, and Annealing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The synthesis and processing (rotary swaging and annealing) of the novel VMnFeCoNi alloy is investigated, alongside the estimation of the grain size effect on hardness. Analysis of a wide grain size range of recrystallized microstructures (12–210 µm) reveals a low annealing twin density.

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Further characterisations of tangential quadrilaterals

open access: yes, 2017
Tangential quadrilaterals are defined to be quadrilaterals in which a circle can be inscribed that is tangent to all four sides. It is well known and easy to prove that a convex quadrilateral is tangential if, and only if, the angle bisectors of all four

Cathodic Cage Plasma Deposition of Nanostructured Cu–Fe–Se Coatings on Poly(methyl Methacrylate)

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Nanostructured Cu–Fe–Se coatings are deposited on PMMA by a modified cathodic cage plasma process, enabling low‐temperature deposition on polymer substrates. A transition from discontinuous to compact morphology is observed with temperature, with optimal properties at 200°C, where improved CuFeSe2‐type bonding, lowest sheet resistance, and favorable ...
