Double transitions in deuterium quadrupole resonance

Journal of Magnetic Resonance (1969), 1978
Abstract The new double nuclear resonance techniques enable the detection of the nuclear quadrupole resonance of the deuteron with very high sensitivity in powdered solids. One consequence is that it is possible to detect double transition quadrupole resonance (DTQR) in which two adjacent deuterons make simultaneous transitions absorbing a single ...

Superallowed electric-quadrupole transitions of ions in crystals

Physical Review Letters, 1989
La reponse collective a plusieurs electrons d'un cristal hote au champ electrique d'un photon peut augmenter la force d'oscillateur pour une transition quadripolaire de l'ion.

Collision-induced dipole transitions and collisional broadening of quadrupole transitions

Physical Review A, 1981
Collision-induced dipole transitions and collisional broadening in the wing of $\mathrm{Cs}(5D)$ due to mixing with $\mathrm{Cs}(7S)$ and $\mathrm{Cs}(6P)$ are studied using two-photon resonance ionization spectroscopy. From the structure of the line shape, we measured the van der Waals well of the ground state without performing a temperature study or

Sum rules for electric quadrupole transitions

Proceedings of the Royal Society of London. A. Mathematical and Physical Sciences, 1974
Sum rules for matrix elements occurring in calculations of electric quadrupole radiation have been derived and tested for the helium and sodium isoelectronic sequences, using frozencore atomic wavefunctions. Electric quadrupole polarizabilities have been calculated for the metastable 2 1 S and 2 3

Master equation for electric quadrupole transitions

Journal of Physics B: Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics, 1989
A master equation is developed, analogous to the Lehmberg-Agarwal equation, for the study of electric quadrupole transitions in atomic systems. This equation allows one to study the evolution in time of a system of atoms interacting with and via the radiation field in terms of the average values of atomic operators only.

Magnetic quadrupole transitions in optical radiation

Journal of Quantitative Spectroscopy and Radiative Transfer, 1965
Abstract The rates of two mechanisms for intercombination transitions in light atoms are compared for visible and near-ultraviolet light, following a suggestion of Mizushima. Even for small Z, spin-orbit electric dipole radiation dominates over magnetic quadropole radiation in determining the radiative lifetime, although in a sense these processes ...

Electric quadrupole transitions in neutral Li

Journal of Quantitative Spectroscopy and Radiative Transfer, 1975
Abstract Eigenfunctions of an effective potential for the valence electron in neutral Li are used to compute electric quadrupole oscillator strengths and transition probabilities for a large number of bound-bound transitions and a few bound-free transitions.

Electric quadrupole transition probabilities for atomic lithium

Atomic Data and Nuclear Data Tables, 2014
Electric quadrupole transition probabilities for atomic lithium have been calculated using the weakest bound electron potential model theory (WBEPMT). We have employed numerical non-relativistic Hartree–Fock wavefunctions for expectation values of radii and the necessary energy values have been taken from the compilation at NIST.

Transition quadrupole moments of superdeformed states in194Pb

Zeitschrift fr Physik A Hadrons and Nuclei, 1992
Lifetimes of superdeformed states in194Pb were measured by the Doppler-shift attenuation method. Quadrupole moments around 20 eb, that are constant over the observed frequency range, are derived. The results rule out large centrifugal stretching effects.

The quadrupole transition LM (β9) in 65terbium

Chemical Physics Letters, 1968
Abstract Using a 40−cm curved mica crystal spectrograph of the transmission type, a new diagram line at λ = 1656.41 XU corresponding to the quadrupole transition L I M V (β 9 ) in terbium has been reported for the first time.
