Disordered but rhythmic—the role of intrinsic protein disorder in eukaryotic circadian timing
Unstructured domains known as intrinsically disordered regions (IDRs) are present in nearly every part of the eukaryotic core circadian oscillator. IDRs enable many diverse inter‐ and intramolecular interactions that support clock function. IDR conformations are highly tunable by post‐translational modifications and environmental conditions, which ...

Introduction To handle well clinical treatments, it is crucial to know the expectations of patients who seek help. We need to ask ourselves: how do patients interpret subjectively their diagnosis, treatments, and self-care?

Measuring dispersion in the context of ordered qualitative scales [PDF]
Producción CientíficaThe main purpose of this contribution is to measure the dispersion associated with the different results of a variable when they form a set of linguistic terms obtained after examining different qualities of people, services, etc ...

Qualitative solution of QCD sum rules
We show how such important features of QCD as chiral symmetry breaking or the formation of a mass-gap can be directly traced from QCD sum rules for two point functions assuming, in the large number of colors limit, exact duality between the operator ...

Qualitative Analysis of Early Universe Cosmologies [PDF]
A qualitative analysis is presented for a class of homogeneous cosmologies derived from the string effective action when a cosmological constant is present in the matter sector of the theory.

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

RankPL: A Qualitative Probabilistic Programming Language
In this paper we introduce RankPL, a modeling language that can be thought of as a qualitative variant of a probabilistic programming language with a semantics based on Spohn's ranking theory.

PARP inhibitors are used to treat a small subset of prostate cancer patients. These studies reveal that PARP1 activity and expression are different between European American and African American prostate cancer tissue samples. Additionally, different PARP inhibitors cause unique and overlapping transcriptional changes, notably, p53 pathway upregulation.

Qualitative telephone interviews: Strategies for success [PDF]
The use of the telephone in qualitative interviews is discouraged by traditionalists who view it as an inferior data collection instrument. However these claims have not been supported by empirical evidence and qualitative researchers who have used and ...
