Using sensemaking as a diagnostic tool in the analysis of qualitative data [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Analysis of qualitative data is a process which novice researchers must learn as they progress, and which experienced researchers must negotiate and adapt to suit the study they are undertaking and the data they are collected.

Digital behavioral therapy improves outcome in patients with axial spondyloarthritis and persistent pain: a randomized controlled trial

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objectives Axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA) is often associated with persistent pain despite effective anti‐inflammatory treatment. Digital health applications (DHA) provide innovative approaches to address multidimensional aspects of persistent pain through psychological and behavioral strategies. The aim of this study was to assess the impact of a DHA

Students' everyday problems: a systematic qualitative analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
The growing acceptance ofqualitative research promises to minimise the perceived gap between counselling practitioner and counselling researcher, but brings with it the challenge offinding methods for dealing systematically, yet respectfully, with ...

Optimized Time–Frequency Analysis for Induction Motor Fault Detection Using Hybrid Differential Evolution and Deep Learning Techniques

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
Workflow of the parameter optimization process for ITSC fault detection, applying Differential Evolution optimization and the Smooth Pseudo Wigner‐Ville Distribution for signal processing. The optimized parameters are then used in the failure identification pipeline, which combines the signal processing with a YOLO‐based architecture for fault severity

On the analysis of qualitative Nyquist plots

open access: yesSystems & Control Letters
A powerful tool in control and systems engineering is represented by Nyquist plots, for which a qualitative representation often gives a clearer visualization of the frequency response function that is typically not given by computer programs, especially if portions of the Nyquist plot extend to infinity. This letter addresses the graphical analysis of

Illuminating New Frontiers: Exploring the Photosensitizing Potential of Passiflora Species in Combating Methicillin‐Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and Their Infection in Senescent Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
This study investigates the photosensitizing potential of Passiflora cincinnata in Antimicrobial Photodynamic Therapy (aPDT) against skin infection caused by Methicillin‐resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) in a senescent murine model. The P. cincinnata exhibits antimicrobial activity, with reduced bacterial load, lower leukocyte infiltration, and ...

Unrolling of Syngonium podophyllum: Functional Anatomy, Morphology and Modelling of Its Peltate Leaves

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
The unrolling of the peltate leaves in Syngonium podophyllum is analyzed and quantified (left‐hand side to center). These measurements serve to verify a mathematical model for leaf unrolling based on the model used in Schmidt (2007). An additional formula for obtaining a layer mismatch from a prescribed radius is derived.
