Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Application of prudence in fnancial reporting – a habit or necessity?

open access: yesActa Economica, 2015
For many centuries financial reporting has been rightfully labeled as conservative. The principle of prudence whose application generates conservatism, which is characterized by time asymmetry in the recognition of gains and losses, is not only one of ...

Ratchet-like dynamics of fluxons in annular Josephson junctions driven by bi-harmonic microwave fields

open access: yes, 2004
Experimental observation of the unidirectional motion of a topological soliton driven by a bi-harmonic ac force of zero mean is reported. The observation is made by measuring the current-voltage characteristics for a fluxon trapped in an annular ...

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

Statistics as an Essential Element of Modern Hybrid Warfares

open access: yesСтатистика и экономика
The relevance of the study lies in the fact that at present, information flows, often based on “falsification” of data, are having an increasing influence. And statistics act as such a tool.Purpose of the study.

Tapered Yagi-Uda Nanoantennas for Broadband Unidirectional Emission

open access: yes, 2012
We demonstrate experimentally the operation of tapered Yagi-Uda nanoantennas for broadband unidirectional emission enhancement. The measured transmittance spectra show that, in comparison to untapered reference structures, the tapered nanoantennas ...

Institutionalized Incentives for Ingenuity – Patent Value and the German Employees’ Inventions Act [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Germany is one of few countries in which the monetary compensation for inventors is not only determined by negotiations between employer and employee-inventor, but also by relatively precise legal provisions.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Analysis of phenotypic diversity of true leaves in lettuce lines (Lactuca sativa var. secalina L.) created by physical and chemical mutagenesis

open access: yesБіофізичний вісник
Background: To expand the genotypic diversity of lettuce (Lactuca sativa var. secalina L.), it is advisable to use physical and chemical mutagenesis methods that allow changing beneficial traits of the original form, which can then be stabilized rapidly ...
