Roughness in quantale modules

Journal of Intelligent & Fuzzy Systems, 2018
In this paper, we consider a left quantale module represented by Q-module as a universal set and we introduce the notion of rough Q-submodule with respect to a Q-submodule of Q-module. Some results about homomorphic images of rough Q-submodules are also generalized and improved in the field of Q-modules.

Quantales carrying ortholattice structure

IEEE International Symposium on Multiple-Valued Logic
This paper investigates the intersection of residuated structures from many-valued logic and orthomodular lattices from quantum logic. We explore whether non-Boolean structures can simultaneously satisfy residuation principles and orthocomplementation ...

Quantal sets and sheaves over quantales

Lithuanian Mathematical Journal, 1994
Quantales were rediscovered in the 1980's by \textit{C. Mulvey} (having been considered in the 1930's by \textit{Ward} and \textit{Dilworth} under the name ``residuated lattice'') as a generalization of frames, which are the commutative idempotent 2-sided quantales. [See the reviewer's book ``Quantales and their applications'', Pitman Res.

Higher Catoids, Higher Quantales and their Correspondences [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Categorical Structures
This article is part of a programme on the formalisation of higher categories and the categorification of rewriting theory. Set-valued structures such as catoids are used in this context to formalise local categorical composition operations. We introduce

Epimorphisms of S-quantales

Algebra universalis, 2018
The notion of (right) \(S\)-quantale was introduced in [\textit{X. Zhang} and \textit{V. Laan}, Semigroup Forum 91, No. 1, 62--70 (2015; Zbl 1346.06010)] (notice that the same concept has appeared in Section 7 of [\textit{S. M. Fakhruddin}, Acta Sci. Math. 52, No.

Limits of quantal analysis reliability: quantal and unimodal constraints and setting of confidence intervals for quantal size

Journal of Neuroscience Methods, 1993
An accurate objective method for determining the reliability of estimates of quantal size (Q) at central synapses was developed. To do this, distributions of amplitudes of postsynaptic responses were simulated by convolving a number of discrete amplitudes separated by equal increments Q with gaussian noise, after which the value of Q was estimated by ...

The elusive quantal individual

Physics Reports, 1985
Abstract In the formal hedgehog representation of quantum mechanics [5] (ambiguous) weights are derived for hedgehogs with a finite number of questions and answers, in particular applied to spin 1 2 and to correlated spin 1 2 pairs.

CHARACTERIZATION OF PROJECTIVE QUANTALES

Journal of the Australian Mathematical Society, 2016
It is proved that a quantale is projective if and only if it is isomorphic to a derived tensor quantale over a completely distributive sup-lattice. Furthermore, an intrinsic characterization of projectivity is given in terms of inertial sup-lattices and derivations of quantales.

The regulation of quantal size

Progress in Neurobiology, 1991
Quantal size can be altered experimentally by numerous treatments that seem to lack any common thread. The observations may seem haphazard and senseless unless clear distinctions are made from the outset. Some treatments shift the size of the entire population of quanta. These quanta are released by nerve stimulation.
