Identification and Quantitative Analysis of 2-Methyl-4-propyl-1,3-oxathiane in Wine.
Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2018On the basis of the chemistry of wine and the co-occurrence of 3-sulfanylhexan-1-ol (3-SH) and acetaldehyde, we investigated the existence of 2-methyl-4-propyl-1,3-oxathiane (1) and identified the presence of a single detectable geometric isomer, cis-1 ...

Quantitative analysis of a visible tip of the peer review iceberg: Book reviews in chemistry
Scientometrics, 1984Book reviews are practically unique in being public, “visible” manifestations of the peer review process. Two hundred reviews of 39 books on chemical topics were subjected to statistical context analysis. Dominance of attitudes, consensus among reviewers, correlation between the reviewers' evaluations and the subsequent citation rate of the reviewed ...

Improving quantitative volumetric analysis skills in first year university chemistry courses
Research in Science Education, 1993This paper describes a project in the School of Chemistry at The University of Melbourne. During 1992 thirty hours of videotapes were taken of students doing quantitative volumetric work in first year laboratories. These were viewed to find out what problems students encountered and what interactions they had with other students and with demonstrators.

Quantitative Phase Analysis By Linear Regression of Chemistry on X-Ray Diffraction Intensity
Powder Diffraction, 1987AbstractXRF and XRD measurements made on a single pressed powder briquet can be combined to give more quantitative information than either technique employed alone. Speed of analysis and simplification of sample preparation are also enhanced. The algorithm presented here uses multiple linear regression of the concentrations of one or more elements on ...
