Correlation structure of extreme stock returns [PDF]

open access: yesQuantitative Finance 1 217-222 (2001), 2000
It is commonly believed that the correlations between stock returns increase in high volatility periods. We investigate how much of these correlations can be explained within a simple non-Gaussian one-factor description with time independent correlations.

Roadmap to Nanomedical Applications: Nanotoxicology and In Vitro Guidelines for Lanthanide‐Doped Luminescence Nanothermometers

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.
Lanthanide‐based luminescence nanothermometry holds multifaceted potential for nanomedical applications, yet despite significant research advances, clinical translation of the engineered nanomaterials is still controversial and widely disputed. This is related to crucial nanotoxicological aspects that must be addressed at the preclinical level ...

Economy of scales in R&D with block-busters [PDF]

open access: yesQuantitative Finance 2, 224--227 (2002), 2000
Are large scale research programs that include many projects more productive than smaller ones with fewer projects? This problem of economy of scale is particularly relevant for understanding recent mergers in particular in the pharmaceutical industry. We present a quantitative theory based on the characterization of distributions of discounted sales S

Why Quantitative Structuring? [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2015
Quality-designed consumer products are easy to recognize. Wouldn't it be great if the quality of financial products became just as apparent? This paper is addressed to financial practitioners. It provides an informal introduction to Quantitative Structuring -- a technology of manufacturing quality financial products (information derivatives).

Fabrication of Stable Ru‐Doped Ni0.95Se Nanostructures for Photovoltaic Coupled Electrochemical Water Splitting in Alkaline Medium

open access: yesChemistry – An Asian Journal, EarlyView.
In this work, a photovoltaic coupled electrochemical system is developed to convert solar energy into electrical energy, which further supplied to a Ru0.1Ni0.95Se ∥ Ru0.1Ni0.95Se cell for the production of green hydrogen through electrochemical water splitting with 88.59 % Faradic efficiency.

A Methodological Approach to Prioritize Digital Twin Development in Manufacturing

open access: yesApplied Stochastic Models in Business and Industry, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The digital age has brought about a need for organizations to utilize Digital Twins to improve operational efficiency and decision‐making. However, it is difficult for companies to identify and prioritize Digital Twin initiatives that meet the needs of their stakeholders and align with the capabilities of the company and its strategic plans ...

Digital transformation: A systematic review and bibliometric analysis from the corporate finance perspective [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Digital transformation significantly impacts firm investment, financing, and value enhancement. A systematic investigation from the corporate finance perspective has not yet been formed. This paper combines bibliometric and content analysis methods to systematically review the evolutionary trend, status quo, hotspots and overall structure of research ...

Is (Independent) Subordination Relevant in Equity Derivatives?

open access: yesApplied Stochastic Models in Business and Industry, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Monroe (1978) demonstrates that any local semimartingale can be represented as a time‐changed Brownian Motion (BM). A natural question arises: does this representation theorem hold when the BM and the time‐change are independent? We prove that a local semimartingale is not equivalent to a BM with a time‐change that is independent from the BM ...
