Quantitative measurements in IVUS images
The International Journal of Cardiac Imaging, 1999IntraVascular UltraSound (IVUS) is a catheter-based technique which provides real-time high resolution tomographic images of both the lumen and arterial wall of a coronary segment, this in contrast to X-ray arteriography that provides a shadow image (luminogram) of the entire lumen.

Quantitative imaging of metals in tissues
BioMetals, 2009Metals and other trace elements play an important role in many physiological processes in all biological systems. Characterization of precise metal concentrations, their spatial distribution, and chemical speciation in individual cells and cell compartments will provide much needed information to explore the metallome in health and disease. Synchrotron-

Quantitative Chemical Imaging of Organelles
Accounts of Chemical ResearchDNA nanodevices are nanoscale assemblies, formed from a collection of synthetic DNA strands, that may perform artificial functions. The pioneering developments of a DNA cube by Nadrian Seeman in 1991 and a DNA nanomachine by Turberfield and Yurke in 2000 spawned an entire generation of DNA nanodevices ranging from minimalist to rococo architectures ...

Quantitative resolution of ultrasound images
2010 IEEE International Symposium on Biomedical Imaging: From Nano to Macro, 2010We discuss here the use of spectral estimation algorithms for biomedical ultrasound imaging. B-mode ultrasound imagery is based on computing the envelope of acoustic individual radio-frequency (RF) lines. An envelope estimator is thus needed to improve spatial resolution and reduce speckle.

Methods in quantitative image analysis
Histochemistry and Cell Biology, 1996The main steps of image analysis are image capturing, image storage (compression), correcting imaging defects (e.g. non-uniform illumination, electronic-noise, glare effect), image enhancement, segmentation of objects in the image and image measurements. Digitisation is made by a camera.

Quantitative imaging of lymph function
American Journal of Physiology-Heart and Circulatory Physiology, 2007Functional lymphatic imaging was demonstrated in the abdomen and anterior hindlimb of anesthetized, intact Yorkshire swine by using near-infrared (NIR) fluorescence imaging following intradermal administration of 100–200 μl of 32 μM indocyanine green (ICG) and 64 μM hyaluronan NIR imaging conjugate to target the lymph vacular endothelial receptor ...

Quantitative methods in medical imaging
Proceedings Eighth IEEE Symposium on Computer-Based Medical Systems, 2002Measurement and comparison of medical images is of growing importance for several reasons: (1) as medical imaging becomes ever more digital, and networks and archives of images proliferate, the opportunity will create the need; (2) automated approaches to treatment design, dose measurement, and surgery planning are emerging from the laboratory and ...

Quantitative characteristics of polarization images
Biomedical Engineering, 1996Paper shows that quantitative data on the anisotropic structures in the form of three-dimensional images having a high spatial resolution could be practically obtained and presents the results of examining a number of anisotropic objects using the experimental model of a computerized polarizing microscope.
