Decisions Based on Qualitative and Quantitative Reasoning
1991Causal networks can be used to reason quantitatively or qualitatively about optimal decisions. Quantitative reasoning in causal probabilistic networks requires the specification of conditional probabilities, which in a medical application reflects the doctors current knowledge about the problem at hand.
