Patents on Quantitative Susceptibility Mapping (QSM) of Tissue Magnetism
Recent Patents on Biotechnology, 2019<P>Background: Quantitative susceptibility mapping (QSM) depicts biodistributions of tissue magnetic susceptibility sources, including endogenous iron and calcifications, as well as exogenous paramagnetic contrast agents and probes. When comparing QSM with simple susceptibility weighted MRI, QSM eliminates blooming artifacts and shows ...

Enhanced quantitative susceptibility mapping (QSM) using real‐time field control
Magnetic Resonance in Medicine, 2017PurposeTo assess the potential of a real‐time field‐control (FC) system for mitigating effects of spatiotemporal field fluctuations in quantitative susceptibility mapping (QSM) at 7 T.MethodsMagnitude, phase, and QSM images of phantoms and healthy volunteers were acquired under standard conditions and under induced field perturbation (FP) (phantoms ...

Use of quantitative susceptibility mapping (QSM) in progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy
Journal of Neuroradiology, 2016Progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (PML) is an opportunistic demyelinating encephalopathy related to JC virus. Its characteristics on conventional brain MRI are well known and are important for the diagnosis. To analyze SWI hypointensities recently described in U-fibers and cortex adjacent to the white matter lesions of PML.Prospective study ...

On the water–fat in-phase assumption for quantitative susceptibility mapping (QSM)
ISMRM Annual Meeting, 2023Gradient echo imaging using in-phase echoes has been proposed to reduce the field-map estimation in water–fat regions to a convex nonlinear least squares problem. Conventionally, the in-phase assumption is based on a single-peak fat-model.

Deep-Learning-regularized Single-step Quantitative Susceptibility Mapping (QSM) Quantification
ISMRM Annual Meeting, 2022We develop a deep-learning-regularized single-step QSM quantification to generate QSM directly from the total phase map. A deep-learning-regularized dipole inversion network, named POCSnet, was deployed to a single-step QSM (SS-POCSnet) network, which combined a variable-SHARP (VSHARP) and the POCSnet.

Characterization of Cardiac Quantitative Susceptibility Mapping (QSM)
ISMRM Annual MeetingCardiac Quantitative Susceptibility Mapping (QSM) is a promising technique for the evaluation of iron levels in the myocardium, particularly after a hemorrhagic infarction. In this abstract, we validate the accuracy of our QSM acquisition and reconstruction procedure in phantom experiments, and characterize its precision and repeatability in the ...

Vessel Orientation Constrained Quantitative Susceptibility Mapping (QSM) Reconstruction
2016QSM is used to estimate the underlying tissue magnetic susceptibility and oxygen saturation in veins. This paper presents vessel orientation as a new regularization term to improve the accuracy of \(l_1\) regularized QSM reconstruction in cerebral veins. For that purpose, the vessel tree is first extracted from an initial QSM reconstruction.

<p>Magnetic resonance-guided radiation therapy (MR-GRT) offers great potential to improve radiation treatment outcomes by providing more accurate and patient-tailored therapy. Despite superior soft tissue contrast in MRI, one of the challenges towards MRI-only workflows is that the process often requires some sort of 'MR-invisible' metal-based ...

NMR in Biomedicine, 2015
The purpose of this study was to measure the regional change of magnetic susceptibility in human brain upon inhalation of 100% oxygen by MRI quantitative susceptibility mapping (QSM). Fourteen healthy volunteers were scanned in a 3 T MR scanner with a 3D multi‐gradient‐echo sequence while breathing medical air (normoxia) and pure oxygen (hyperoxia ...

Multiple sclerosis lesion geometry in quantitative susceptibility mapping (QSM) and phase imaging. [PDF]
To demonstrate the phase and quantitative susceptibility mapping (QSM) patterns created by solid and shell spatial distributions of magnetic susceptibility in multiple sclerosis (MS) lesions.Numerical simulations and experimental phantoms of solid- and shell-shaped magnetic susceptibility sources were used to generate magnitude, phase, and QSM images ...
