Linkage Map Construction and Quantitative Trait Locus Analysis of Agronomic and Fiber Quality Traits in Cotton

open access: yes, 2014
The superior fiber properties of Gossypium barbadense L. serve as a source of novel variation for improving fiber quality in Upland cotton (G. hirsutum L.), but introgression from G.

High-Resolution Linkage and Quantitative Trait Locus Mapping Aided by Genome Survey Sequencing: Building Up An Integrative Genomic Framework for a Bivalve Mollusc

open access: yesDNA Research, 2013
Genetic linkage maps are indispensable tools in genetic and genomic studies. Recent development of genotyping-by-sequencing (GBS) methods holds great promise for constructing high-resolution linkage maps in organisms lacking extensive genomic resources ...

Fn14 Controls the SIRT2‐Mediated Deacetylation of Slug to Inhibit the Metastasis of Epithelial Ovarian Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
It is reported that Fn14 inhibited EOC metastasis by regulating Slug‐mediated EMT. Furthermore, Fn14 altered the subcellular localization of SIRT2 by interacting with SIRT2, leading to reduced SIRT2 shuttling into the nucleus and subsequently promoting the acetylated degradation of Slug.

Structured Input-Output Lasso, with Application to eQTL Mapping, and a Thresholding Algorithm for Fast Estimation [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2012
We consider the problem of learning a high-dimensional multi-task regression model, under sparsity constraints induced by presence of grouping structures on the input covariates and on the output predictors. This problem is primarily motivated by expression quantitative trait locus (eQTL) mapping, of which the goal is to discover genetic variations in ...

Expression Quantitative Trait Locus Mapping across Water Availability Environments Reveals Contrasting Associations with Genomic Features in Arabidopsis[C][W][OPEN]

open access: yesThe Plant Cell, 2013
Expression quantitative trait locus mapping in well-watered and drying soil revealed differential gene expression resulting from standing genetic variation, environmental condition, and gene × environment interactions. Genomic features were then shown to

A Novel OsMPK6‐OsMADS47‐PPKL1/3 Module Controls Grain Shape and Yield in Rice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
OsMADS47 is identified as a key regulator governing rice grain morphology. Phosphorylation‐dependent regulation of its activity directs the development of slender versus round grains, modulating both yield and appearance. This mechanism bridges cellular signaling with transcriptional regulation, establishing a molecular framework for grain optimization.

Genetic structure and molecular mechanism underlying the stalk lodging traits in maize (Zea mays L.)

open access: yesComputational and Structural Biotechnology Journal, 2023
Stalk lodging seriously affects yield and quality of crops, and it can be caused by several factors, such as environments, developmental stages, and internal chemical components of plant stalks.

LMM-Lasso: A Lasso Multi-Marker Mixed Model for Association Mapping with Population Structure Correction [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2012
Exploring the genetic basis of heritable traits remains one of the central challenges in biomedical research. In simple cases, single polymorphic loci explain a significant fraction of the phenotype variability. However, many traits of interest appear to be subject to multifactorial control by groups of genetic loci instead.

Likelihood Ratio Test process for Quantitative Trait Loci detection. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We consider the likelihood ratio test (LRT) process related to the test of the absence of QTL on the interval [0,T] representing a chromosome (a QTL denotes a quantitative trait locus, i.e. a gene with quantitative effect on a trait).

Multiple-line inference of selection on quantitative traits

open access: yes, 2015
Trait differences between species may be attributable to natural selection. However, quantifying the strength of evidence for selection acting on a particular trait is a difficult task.
