Improving Long‐Term Glucose Prediction Accuracy with Uncertainty‐Estimated ProbSparse‐Transformer

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Wearable devices collect blood glucose and other physiological data, which serve as inputs to the prediction model. After data embedding, a structure utilizing ProbSparse self‐attention and a one‐step generative head within a Transformer‐based model is introduced, which is concurrently designed for deployment on edge devices, enabling real‐time ...

One bit at a time : the use of quantized compressive sensing in radar signal processing

open access: yes, 2021
This thesis studies the harsh quantization of radar signals. More specifically, what can be achieved in terms of localization of targets using FMCW radars from 1-bit dithered measurements and processing. The first part of this thesis leverages the framework of Quantized Compressive Sensing to achieve high quality localizations using coarse 1-bit ...

Ultrafast Demagnetization Through Femtosecond Generation of Non‐Thermal Magnons

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, EarlyView.
A fully ab initio parametrized model is developed to describe out‐of‐equilibrium magnon dynamics in ferromagnetic metals. Applying this model to ultrafast laser‐induced demagnetization, it is revealed that the generation of non‐thermal magnons provides a sizable demagnetization within 200 fs in excellent comparison with experiments, which establishes ...
